The best feature of this hotel is its location. At the end of the street is the square of Campo di Fiori, a nice location with restaurants and bars, where you can hang out till late or just walk in 10 minutes to the area of Trevestere, where there is also a lot of things to do in the evening. The location of the hotel is very central in Rome, you can easily walk to all the sites within 10 - 20 minutes.

The negative aspect about the hotel is the quality. Rooms are very small, as are the beds (double beds are 1,60 m wide, so if you are two single travelers, get two seperate beds!) and the matrasses are hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom is also tiny, not for large people. You can live with this for a couple of nights, as there is much more to do outside of the hotel and you only get there to sleep.

Service is good, staff is nice and you get a freshly made cappucino made at breakfast.

Would I return to this hotel? No. Next time I would book a more expensive hotel at about the same location. I would rather pay 200 - 250 euro a night and get a better sleep and more quality than pay 180 euro per night for this hotel.

Just returned from a week at this hotel (my third stay in Rome), and for a reasonable price in the heart of Rome, could not have asked for better. The staff was charming and very helpful with restaurant reservations and taxis, the beds were comfortable, rooms clean, elevator functioning, there was lots of hot water in the shower and big towels. Breakfast was cereals, rolls, yogurt, cheese + ham - and the cappucino lovely (I skipped the canned fruit and juice panned in another review - if fresh squeezed is what you want, look for a hotel with more stars and bring some more euros). We were a short walk from Piazza Navona, Campo Dei Fiori and the bridges over to Trastevere. Via Pellegrino is busy enough to feel safe (we were two women traveling together) but not as loud as the bigger streets (not to say it is quiet, I'm not sure if there are quiet spots in central Rome, but that is the fun of it). Staff ranged in their English skills, but even with our maybe 20-ish words of Italian, we had no problems.

The 19 room, family run hotel on the Via del Pellegrino is wonderfully central and reasonably priced for its location. We stayed there for 6 nights in December 2004 and would return in a heart beat. The room was cozy, the breakfast fresh, and the bathroom large. Located a few blocks from the Campo de' Fiore, one block off the Corso de Vittorio Emmanuelle, and a few blocks from the Tiber.

We were in Rome for four nights (5/20-24/2004)and we had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Rinascimento! Everyone was friendly, cheerful, helpful, and spoke English. It was a very quaint building on a great small but busy street. It seems like they very recently did a lot of remodeling, our room was fantastic, we had the Superior Double Room, which even had a small sitting room, and nice windows (not dark at all). No complaints about the bathroom- even had a hairdryer! Our room is the one featured in the Virtual Tour on the web site: hotelrinascimento. We had a phone and a working TV with CNN, (which is more than I can say for our Venice hotel). The location was great, and we found we enjoyed being closer to the hotel, near the Campo dei Fiori better than anywhere else, which is nice especially at night because you don’t have to go far when you’re ready for bed. They even had umbrellas for us to use on the one day that it rained. The breakfast was good too! Ham, cheese and fresh rolls which is a nice change from heavy or sweet breakfasts; juice, coffee, tea etc., even cereal, and yogurt. I can’t wait to go back!

Stay anywhere but here. On a recent trip to Rome, we arrived to find our room was not only tiny (typical in Rome), but musty and with hard, lumpy beds. With permission from the desk clerk, we cancelled the rest of our stay, but they charged my credit card anyway, without my permission.
