This is a basic hotel with a good staff in a GREAT location at a good price. It is not fancy and you are not paying for that. But you will get a clean room that is no smaller than the european average (don't expect a large US style hotel most anywhere in Europe). No view, but you will get a basic breakfast of breads, cheeses, meat, jam, cereal, coffee and juice. You can drink the flitered coffee or ask for italian coffees which they will make for you. It is a small operation with less than 20 rooms so the maid goes home by 2:30 - ensure if you want maid service that you don't leave your "Do Not Disturb" sign up all day. However, in the afternoon or evening the front desk will get you extra towels or basic services if necessary. Walls are thin so say "hello" to your neighbors! But the location is GREAT. On the main street - 2 minutes away - is the bus stop. Several go towards Vactican City (10 minutes by bus) or towards the main attractions and business districts (again, 15 minutes by bus). Many attractions are walkable as well. But the busses that pass by will take you most everywhere you want without having to change. You can take it all the way to the train station or with one switch to the airport. Endless resturants are within a 15 minute walking radius, so you will not be restricted by food options.
Listen, at this price you are not getting the Hyatt. But for a friendly hotel, breakfast, and location (and in Rome, YOU NEED TO stay downtown unless you want to waste your trip), this is a good choice.

Stayed here in June 2007. Hotel is small, but friendly, reasonably priced and in an ideal location. All of Rome's big tourist sites are within easy reach of this hotel, the Colusseum being a maximum of 20-25 mins walk away. During the whole trip we never used public transport once (Although the hotel is somewhat hidden away down a one-way street so dont expect to find it too easily!) The campo de Fiori (square) is only 5 mins walk away, which has a good variety of places to eat and drink and its daily market gives it a more 'local' feel than other squares (the Piazza Navarona for instance).

Apart from the loacation, what makes this hotel memorable is the room with the terrace. Sure, like other reviewers mentioned, it doesn't provide magnificent views and the neighbours in the opposite building do have a clear view down to it, but in this price range, what other hotel will offer you your own private terrace? Its a great place to relax and have a bite to eat. As for the neighbours they've seen everything before (really) so they won't pay you any attention whatsoever.

If you're new to Rome and travelling on a budget, this place is recommended for the location alone. But what makes it memorable is the room with the terrace.

This is a difficult review to write as I liked the hotel enough but only moderately enjoyed Rome this visit.

The hotel is located near the Camp di Fiori. I specifically chose room #42 from the website as it featured a terrace, and for this reason alone I would recommend the hotel. Our room was small (as noted on the website) and the bathroom had pretty tiles and new features. It was very small with the Italian shower that simply drains away. The terrace was large - 11' x 14' - and had lovely new terracotta tiles with a matching terracotta tiled/wrought iron table and chairs. Planters offered some privacy screening from the street but not from the facing apartment buildings (we didn't find this a problem, however). While it did not have a great view, it did offer a slight view of a neighbouring church. And a great place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or a picnic dinner.

This is a three star hotel. The room came with a bar bridge that had a small personal safe inside. No hair dryer. Not a lot of luggage storage. The size woud be perfect for a single or a like-minded couple with minimal luggage. If you travel with a lot of luggage, this is not the room for you.

Nightly charge was E160.

The area was noisy (isn't all of the centro storico?). The closest piazza was small but had a terrific neighbourhood bar/cafe and an excellent restaurant. This was my first visit staying in the Campo di Fiori/Piazza Navona area, and it was okay. Very touristy but perhaps everywhere in this tourist-lovers city is. I liked the Tridente/Piazza di Popolo area where I stayed in last time better.

  • Liked — The terrace.
  • Disliked — Street noise.

Our experience was fine in this small, budget European hotel. We opted for the superior room, which included a small living area apart from the bedroom and rather large bath. The extra space of two chairs, a loveseat, table, desk and TV was welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Unexpected nice amenties were in the bath (soap/shampoo/ lotion/shower cap/heated towel rack). The desk personnel were delightful, multilingual, and very helpful. The elevator, AC, TV worked fine. Breakfast was typical fare, but edible. Location is on a very narrow dark quiet street 1 block from a major street and it was easy walking distance to Camp di Flori, The Panetheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and everywhere in Central Rome. Easy access to excellent dining close by. We did not experience any safety issues as police were everywhere in Rome. It was a delightful experience and we enjoyed it very much! The hotel is a good value in high season in Rome,

Small hotel, with small but nice rooms, friendly staff, good basic breakfast. The location is great, 20 minutes from the Vatican in the West, 10 minutes from Piazza Navona to the North, 15 minutes from Trastevere in the South. Easy to reach from the airport: take a train to Station Trastevere. Take the tram to Argentina and walk for 20 minutes to the hotel. Meanwhile you will cross Campo di Fiori.
