We selected hotel Hotel Sant' Angelo for it´s great location and low rates. When visiting this hotel I definitely reccomend taxi transport (Mercedes cars) from/to the airport organized by the hotel for 50€ - one way/max. 4 people.
We had a triple room and a double room.
Rooms:
- clean / room service everyday
- refrigerator - (triple room)
- view - nothing special
- thin walls - you can hear everything your neighbour does :-( - pretty annoying
- bathroom - really small - 3/5 for cleanness
- beds - uncomfortable
Breakfast:
- poor
- dirty chairs at the table
- bread - not fresh everyday :-(
Location:
- great - we pretty much walked to all the historical sites
- shooping - fantastic
Reccomend:
- Giolitti (www.giolitti.it) It has the best ice-cream I ever had in my life! - It´s near Palazzo Montecitorio / street - Via degli Uff. d. Vicario

As in other reviews, the main draw to this hotel is its location and very friendly and helpful staff. Our daughter and her husband treated my wife and I to a whirl-wind tour of Europe and this was one of our stops from 12/21/08-12/25/08. The breakfasts were great along with a couple of cups of cappuccino and you could spend the entire day sight-seeing and not care about another meal until supper time. Easy walking distance to the Vatican museum, St.Peter's square, Trvevi fountain, Pantheon and Spanish steps. A little further walk but manageable to the Forum and Colosseum. A taxi stand area is just up the block away from the river for an exhilarating ride back to Roma Termini (Rome Terminal station) fairly inexpensive if during the day. The rooms are small but comfortable, bathrooms are also small as well as the elevator but you're there to tour not stay in the rooms, right.
Price is reasonable for its location, I will stay here again on my future trips to Rome.

* Lots of street noise from works across the road, some double glazing wouldn't go astray.

Great location we walked everywhere from this hotel, even over to the coloseum!! the room was very clean, shower was very small but we were expecting that as i had read an earlier report on trip advisor. i would say it was more a 2* than 3* but all italian hotels seem to have a higher grading to the rest of europe!! the breakfast coissants were melt in the mouth, especially the choc filled ones!!staff were very friendly, slight misunderstanding on pick up service i naively thought the 52euros was a return jouney price, works out 52 to be picked up from airport & 48 to be taken back!!! might be worth shopping around although both drivers were brill in Rome traffic!!! yes i would go back to this hotel and would recomend to a friend mainly for it's location
