The hotel was difficult to find as it is in the middle of a side street an not well marked from the outside. There are street signs, however, that help you get close. The lobby of hotel is upstairs. Elevator is extremely small - two people with luggage was tight.

The rooms are clean and decent size for Europe. Bed was comfortable and continental breakfast was good.

Location was okay, but not great.

Hotel has an excellent location. The Vatican is a short walk one way, and the centre or Rome is a short walk the other way. The hotel itself is adeuqate but nothing special. Bed ok, bathroom very small. If you are an overweight American (or any other nationality) then avoid this hotel. Otherwise the location makes it a very good choice. The breakfast is passable, but nothing more.

What a disappointing hotel... I agree with previous reviews that the location is superb but there are much better hotels in the same area.

We stayed 5 nights and our room was tiny. The bathroom was so small I would doubt that a person with a slightly larger than normal size, could get into the shower.

Big problems to be aware of.
1. There is a huge amount of constuction work going on at the hotel, cleaning roof and walls. Each morning at around 7am we woke to drills and the feeling someone was knocking down our hotel room. We asked the reception about it and they told us there was no work Fri or Sat. We were never told about this work before arriving.
2. Breakfast room is not big enough for all the guests. Each morning you have to wait. On our first morning we waited for 20 mins for a table to be cleared, despite it being empty. When we sat down the waitress starrted clearing aways breakfast food after 8 mins. She said hotels rules were breakfast ends at 10am. If just a shame she was not as efficient at clearing the empty tables and we might have enjoyed a 30 mins breakfast.
3. There is no internet connection, the small computer in the corner was broken. so dont bank on staying connected as the hotel advertises.
4. We had a 5 night stay in a very hot Rome. I had to ask that our sheets were changed on day 4, If I had not asked, I am sure they would not have been changed.
5. Staff were functionally friendly but not helpful. They did the very mimimum and really didnt care more like they were doing you a favour by letting you stay there.

A very poor hotel and very low standards maybe due to new owners. I will never stay there again and believe Rome has much more to offer than what this place gives.

Just spent five nights in Rome at hotel Sant Angelo. Location was just amazing....walked everywhere and never had to use public transport except on last day when we took the number 110 bus (open-topped sight-seeing bus) to give our legs a rest! Hotel was lovely. I was apprehensive, especially after reading some of the negative comments on the website but, thankfully, there was no need to worry. The room was meticulously cleaned every day with fresh towels suppplied daily also. We were never disturbed by noise from other rooms. Air conditioning worked a treat and BBC 3 news on TV kept us abreast of what was going on in the world. Bathroom was small and so was shower but the excellent pressure of the shower was greatly appreciated by myself, especially when washing my hair! Bed was firm (our preference anyway) and pillows were on the flat side (again as we would prefer). Breakfast is small and limited but still very adequate.....it's a non event in Rome generally. Vitos around the corner is a fabulous restaurant where you can get great food at reasonable prices. Moreover, the staff are so helpful and friendly, all speaking excellent English. If you are wavering about whether to stay here or not, go ahead and book! You won't regret it!

We decided on staying here ,after reading other reports on Tripadvisor. After reading reports on Hotels near termimi,we wanted somewhere within easy reach to all main attractions ,without using public transport and found Sant Angelo fitted the bill perfectly.
After arriving by pre-booked taxi at 11.00 am,asked if we could leave luggage until we could check -in ,but was told room was ready immediatley and we could go straight up and relax .
The Triple room was spotlessley clean , with toilet, bidet and shower. The room also had a small fridge(a small shop opposite was ideal for stocking up on wine and Peroni).
The staff were very friendly and gave us maps and any information we required.
The location was superb,5-10 mins walk to spanish steps
30 mins walk to colleseum.
We found breakfast very good.
The only criticisim was lack of quality bars and restaurants near to hotel.Sundays and Mondays not the best opening times !
We would definately book again.
