The hotel is easy walking distance to the main station in Rome.
The hotel was nice and clean.
The bathroom was fresh, nice and clean.
The main bed was very large and very comfortable.

if you book for 3 friends to share then you get a couch for the 3rd person and this is not very comfortable....but i guess this only applies if yu booka room for 3 / 4 people.

Please ensure you ask for a bed each or 2 double beds....!!!

Over all the price was very reasonable compared to other similar hotels.

It is walking distance for healthy individuals to see the main attractions in Rome.
and you have the option of using the buses......if you wish....termini.

There is a nice market across the hotel open every day which was great.

A decent breakfast compared to other hotels in Rome.

Thanks to reviews from other travelers, we selected the Hotel Rex, near Termini rail station, for a reasonably priced overnight in Rome prior to boarding a cruise. We were very happy with the selection. Friendly staff, clean and well appointed room/bath, and good location made it an excellent choice for our short stay. We walked to the hotel from the station with rolling luggage - manageable walk, though we took a taxi on the return to Termini the following day. Not the most beautiful part of the city, of course, but just a 15 minute walk to the Colliseum and a few blocks to the bus stop, so we were very satisfied. The room faced another building, so no view, but also very quiet at night. We booked a standard double room and found a very nice king size bed - pleasant surprise. The room also had a Mac computer, internet access, flat screen TV, room safe and good sized closet. Bathroom was also a nice size and attractive. The breakfast was adequate with hot and cold foods - nothing terribly noteworthy - but it was enough to get us on our way. Front desk staff spoke perfect English and were friendly and very helpful with directions and other assistance. The room size might be an issue for a longer stay - but it was bigger than our cruise stateroom, so, no complaints! A good choice if you want to stay near Termini.

- If you are looking for a place for your Rome exploring, this a worth to take a look, it's not a luxory resort for a honeymoon, but a good 4 star hotel.
- Location is good, it's close to train station, but not too close:)
- We walked from there to vatican (1 hour walk), colosseum, pantheon, everywhere
- Staff is very friendly and helpful, thing that I appreciate very much
- The room is not a luxory room, but there was enough space and it was CLEAN and quiet too. It's not like those many other hotels, located next to big noisy street. I tipped the cleaning lady for her effort :D
- Breakfast was good...
- The airconditioner was a bit noisy, but well, we survivied that and were glad that there was a airconditioner

We've stayed at Hotel Rex on June 10, 11 and 12, as part of our honeymoon trip to Italy. We loved the hotel, the room, the location, everything. Rooms are decent size, clean, there's a nice writing desk as well, new furniture, and the bed is very comfortable. Nice bathroom, with an interesting shower cabin (it's true that the towel rack was kinda dusty, but we just didn't keep our towels on it).
We loved the library, it's beautifully decorated and very romantic. There's a lot of detail attention in the lobby as well. Just love a hotel with personality!
Hotel staff was just great, every single one of them; always with a smile, always ready to help you in every possible way.
Location couldn't be better. Walking distance to all the attractions, close to Termini Station, on a quiet street though. We walked up and down Via Cavour several times, day and night, and felt really safe. A lot of good restaurants around the hotel. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel, so couldn't tell you anything about it.
Couldn't get a better deal. Would stay again for sure.
