We (mid-age US couple) stayed six nights in early March as part of an air-hotel package. The hotel was built in 1862 - generous-size room, high ceilings but a bit of 'faded glory'. The bathroom had been updated. We had a standard 'superior' with breakfast included. The breakfast buffet was often busy but was decent selection and fresh -the self-serve espresso/cappucino machine got alot of use from us. We often ate lunch, early lite-dinner at Flan Obrien Irish pub two blocks away, which had a convenient internet cafe alongside. Our room looked into interior courtyard and was fairly quiet - I wondered if street-facing rooms had alot of traffic noise. Was good location a few hundred yards to Termini rail and many historic sights within reasonable walk. In all, reasonable property at reasonable price. Our travel agent said she puts many of her clients at this property for the location and value.

Stayed there once again - but unfortunately only for one night. It was a wonderful stay - the room was beautiful, the front desk personnel were terrific and helpful and the breakfast was outstanding. Only one problem - while Room 442 was absolutely beautiful, the shower leaked all over the floor - probably something that could be easily fixed.
Would definately stay there again.

Spent seven nights from May 17th - 24th. Word of advise, insist on a room on the courtyard side. Hotel is in a good location, but right on Nazionale, a very busy road for buses, motorcycles and cars, and the cobblestone roads didn't help.

We walked everywhere from this location; 10 min to Colosseum, 10 min to Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. Metro stop(Republica) 1 block away .

Standard Room was large, bathroom large too. Lots of hot water, but narrow tub. Use of safe included with room rate.

Breakfast was ok, but got boring after awhile as it never changes.

Staff were quite friendly and helpful; booked Borghese museum for us, dining staff made us REAL cappuccino when asked.

Main reason we booked was hubby's deal with his work, $135 euros per night.

  • Liked — close to museums, metro, shopping, good restaurants
  • Disliked — sagging bed, street noise

This hotel got extreme reviews on Tripadvisor so I was sligjhtly concerned which I would find to be accurate. If you are expecting a modern 4 star hotel you will be disappointed. If you are expecting a stylish, traditional Italian hotel with charm and elegance, this is the place for you. I stayed with my wife and two friends and had the best three days ever. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and very efficient and the hotel just slightly quirky but typically Italian. Exactly as depicted on the Quirinale website. Convenient for all the main historic sites - it will take you a full three days to walk around all of the main ones.
If you like food, check out the following restaurant:
Il Post Accanto at via del boschetto 36a tel: [--]. Turn left out of the hotel and walk about 500 metres to the turning on the left. The restaurant is on the right. Opens at 8 and will probably only sit about 20. All food is cooked fresh in front of you - worth every penny!!!
The hotel serve a good, substantial breakfast.

Very nice place to stay, great location, walking distance to everywhere. Via Nazionale is a busy street with plenty of restaurants and bars. We stayed 3 nights total and were upgraded to a mini suite (twice the size of the regular room) the last 2 nights, which was very nice. The breakfast (included) was nice enough and kept us fed until the evening. Did not experience the garden as it was raining. We took the Leonardo express from the airport and walked 4 blocks to the hotel, very easy to find. The Coliseum is a 10 minute walk.
It is an old hotel, front doors of rooms needs to be upgraded and we could hear the neighbors as if they were in our room, but it did not bother us that much. Sure there is better, but for the price, it is more than enough, clean and the service was good.
Good luck!!!

  • Liked — Antiques, Old Rome feeling
  • Disliked — Insulation of rooms, entry door.
