This hotel was perfect particularly when we were on a budget. The staff were helpful and rooms were nice. Good simple breakfast. The location was also great as your so close to the station and walking distance to the centre, it was perfect for us!

The hotel is on a very busy street, i.e.LOUD, the facade is being renovated at the moment so there is no view as the whole building is covered, dust and dirt everywhere.Sad and drab place.Indian staff.
Rooms clean, sheets clean, but as everything in Rome, tourists are being ripped off. No value for money. Breakfast cheap and boring.(Tea,coffe, 2 juices, cheap ham, cheap chese, butter, dry rolls and sweet croissants)
Beware of the hotels' website, NOTHING is as it is on this website, its fake photoshop photos!

sThe hotel is close to Santa Maria Maggiore and Termini. Breakfast ok, but the breakfast room is very tiny.
Unfortunately they don`t have a lift, and our room was next to the hotel on the 4th floor !
The stairs were not covered with a anti-slippery-covering and on the second day I fell down the marble stairs and broke my ankle.
The staff was not very helpfull - they brought some ice but didn´t care to call a doctor.
When we got back from the hospital we got a room at the first floor (still with stairs), the director called and promised me to contact his insurance.
It has now been 4 weeks and they don´t respond emails, phonecalls...and I need a second operation and am not able to walk for 2 months.

After reading all the reviews I basically got what I expected from the Hotel Giubileo. It's a 2 star but matched any 3 Star I've stayed in. I normally stay in 4+ star hotels but as this was a group outing I went along with this as a place to stay in Rome.

The room I had 402 had a terrace, which was nice. The weather in early November was great 15-19c and the evenings were cool but nice to sip on some wine on the terrace. The king bed was fine and the room was clean. Air-conditioning too. The shower was small and I managed to squeeze in there...it was funny but was fine overall. The bathroom overall was nice even had a bidet.

The location is great. We walked from Termini. Only 10 mins down a couple blocks. The staff was there to great us at 10 pm and made check in a breeze. They escorted us to the 4th floor annex up all those stairs! lol We were glad to get some exercise and work off all the gelatos were had during the weekend from the next door shop...excellent!!

Breakfast was very simple, some cereal, cream cheese and croissants. The internet computer was available most times and it was nice to log on to check the Facebook! Great that it was free too!

We walked to the coliseum, which is only about 20 mins away. The station was also close and the busses and metro system is good. We found it hard to figure out where to buy a bus/metro pass (4 euro/day) but we got one at the tour bus outlets (make sure you get the 4euro day pass and they give you the right one! Two of us got ripped off paying for the day pass and receiving the 1 hr one instead. Check them before you leave. Stamp them with the machines on the bus behind the driver. Watch for pickpockets. We never had any problems but always be safe rather than sorry.

Overall I think it’s a good place to stay. I paid about 75euro a night which was well worth it.

  • Liked — Location and terrace Rm 402
  • Disliked — Stairs to get to 4th floor lol

Close enough to walk to and from the Termini but far enough away not to be bothered by undesirables, this hotel is in a good location for walking to the main tourist spots. Don't be put off by the building exterior - inside it's much better with quite attractive flooring and decor. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and speak English. We were given a room at the back on the second floor, so were not bothered by street noise or having to carry our cases up the stairs (as has been mentioned by others, there is no lift). Breakfast was rather limited (orange juice and a croissant are your best bet - the coffee was pretty dire). The room, including the en-suite, whilst not massive, was clean and always well serviced. Overall, a good base from which to explore Rome and decent value at the price.

  • Liked — Cleanliness of accommodation and friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — Basic breakfast
