After reading all the reviews I basically got what I expected from the Hotel Giubileo. It's a 2 star but matched any 3 Star I've stayed in. I normally stay in 4+ star hotels but as this was a group outing I went along with this as a place to stay in Rome.
The room I had 402 had a terrace, which was nice. The weather in early November was great 15-19c and the evenings were cool but nice to sip on some wine on the terrace. The king bed was fine and the room was clean. Air-conditioning too. The shower was small and I managed to squeeze in there...it was funny but was fine overall. The bathroom overall was nice even had a bidet.
The location is great. We walked from Termini. Only 10 mins down a couple blocks. The staff was there to great us at 10 pm and made check in a breeze. They escorted us to the 4th floor annex up all those stairs! lol We were glad to get some exercise and work off all the gelatos were had during the weekend from the next door shop...excellent!!
Breakfast was very simple, some cereal, cream cheese and croissants. The internet computer was available most times and it was nice to log on to check the Facebook! Great that it was free too!
We walked to the coliseum, which is only about 20 mins away. The station was also close and the busses and metro system is good. We found it hard to figure out where to buy a bus/metro pass (4 euro/day) but we got one at the tour bus outlets (make sure you get the 4euro day pass and they give you the right one! Two of us got ripped off paying for the day pass and receiving the 1 hr one instead. Check them before you leave. Stamp them with the machines on the bus behind the driver. Watch for pickpockets. We never had any problems but always be safe rather than sorry.
Overall I think it’s a good place to stay. I paid about 75euro a night which was well worth it.
