Location of this hotel is great. Just a few steps to St. Peter's Square. Parking is a challenge but we finally found a parking garage. As for our room, we were dumped out the back door. We then had to walk past the laundry room and up a very narrow steep flight of stairs to where there was a single door. Our view was of another window across the alley. The room was tiny but seemed clean enough. The bathroom however had mold all around the shower. The toilet worked on and off. There was no hot water whatsoever. The A/C was turned off and it took some talking to try to get the breaker turned back on. The breakfast buffet was ok. There was a good restaurant next door where the service staff was excellent and the food was good. Luckily, we just slept in the room as we were walking around the rest of the time. If you want to spend any time in the room, I wouldn't suggest this hotel.

My wife and I have just got back from our trip to Europe. We stayed in Rome for 4 nights at this hotel. Unless you are on a tight budget, we would not recommend it. Our room was small and very dated. This property has not been updated in many, many years. The photos on the hotels website are a bit misleading. The wallpaper was peeling off and although the room was basically clean, it was a bit grubby. The bed (which took up virtually all of the floor space) was as hard as rock. Breakfast was included in the room price (85 Euros) and was good.

The location is pretty good, but a bit of a walk to the main vatican areas, on the opposite side from the Museum, etc. It is very close to St. Peters Square and the Basilica though. It would be worth paying a little more and being on the other side of the square, where everything is closer. To get to the vatican you have to go through an underpass with some interesting people, but seemed pretty safe. The bus passes by the hotel and goes directly to the Termini, which is handy. The same bus takes you to many other parts of the centre as well.

The location limits your dining options near the hotel. The restaurant just up the street (turn right out the hotel door, first place on the right) is pretty good. The food was fresh, tasty and the service is good and unhurried. The price is pretty good too. About 80 to 100 Euros for a full dinner with wine and drinks (for two people). The place directly across the street is terrible (unless you like microwaved pasta and store-bought sauces). The other bars across the street are pretty good for a snack and a beer/wine.

The location is the best thing about this hotel, 5 min. to St. Peters Sq. I had a single, the walls are paper thin, I gave the newlyweds down the hall an 9.5 for the entertaining noise. the breakfast was adequate, the desk people were ok, If your on a budget and want to spend the money on Rome and not the room this is the place.

We stayed here for one night on our way back from a wedding. We had booked it because of its close proximity to St. Peters. I was expecting at the time and didn't want to have ong walks in the heat.
This place needs a complete overhall. It reminded me of a convent......it was extremely shabby and dark, the bathroom was a very poor size.
As another review metioned the sound of prehistoric plumbing and the antique lift were to be heard while we tried to sleep!!!
I can't believe this place advertises as being newly refurbished...advertising standards should investigate!!!!!

The hotel is in a super location if you want to be near the Vatican. You can see the dome of St Peter's from the top floors windows.
It is too far to walk in the evening to the centre but the 64 bus runs regularly from outside the hotel. There are not many places to eat near the hotel, though the two restaurants we tried were fine.
The staff were friendly. The bed was very comfortable.
However, the street which is near a main road is very noisy, the wallpaper on one of the bedroom walls was falling off. The smell in the bathroom from the sink and toilet was awful - a real smell of bad drainage.
Breakfast was a buffet style and was ok - but limited choice. We had to prompt the staff to bring extra croissants.
The hotel was expensive for what the standard of accommodation, but I guess it is because of its location.
The room could have been cleaner. The bathroom lokoed very dated, so did the furniture.
The gloosy brochure we picked up in reception does not resemble the hotel. Wish it did.
