10 family members, ages 4, 17, 20, 50's, 88, 91, traveling to Rome in July to meet relatives for the first time and visit their ancestral town, Montescaglioso, 6 hours south of Rome, could spell disaster, but was pure delight thanks to Giorgio Lazar, the Lazar family, and staff of Hotel Delle Muse. Before we left the USA, Giorgio communicated through emails and a phone call to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel for each group in the family arriving on different days from different parts of the USA. He gave us five rooms on the same floor of this charming hotel located in a quiet, cooler, residential area, very accessible to Rome's center. As well, Giorgio arranged for a bus and driver (who quickly became part of the family) for our overnight trip to Montescaglioso. The gracious (English speaking) staff was always kind, attentive, informative. The hotel provides a safe in each room for valuables. We were advised on different methods of travel to various sites in Rome. The surrounding neighborhood has a variety of shops, including home made gelati, and a health food store! Breakfasts at Hotel delle Muse are delicious: fruits, cheese, meats, eggs, pastry, cereals, yogurts, juices, fresh milk, cappucinos, lattes, an array of teas. With the help of the hotel staff, we planned a special dinner (cooked to perfection by the hotel chef) for our Roman relatives and served in the hotel's elegant garden. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, air conditioned, (and, if preferred, windows that open into the fresh night air). Giorgio also directed us to some of the neighborhood's restaurants where he takes his own family. Each one of us, from the 4 year old to the more experienced ages of our parents, 88 and 91, felt at home, relaxed, attended to by the kind staff at Hotel delle Muse. My parents enjoyed sitting outside, reading the newspaper, and watching the neighborhood go by when they weren't visiting the gardens and museum at nearby Villa Borghese, or accompanying the 4 year old to the zoo or Vatican City. Each of us knows we have a home away from home at Hotel delle Muse the next time we visit Rome.

We spent three days in Rome prior to our cruise and thankfully found Hotel Delle Muse. The moment we stepped into the lobby, we were welcomed by the staff, and for the next three days, their help in making travel arrangements, great breakfast, clean and very comfortable accomodations made our stay in Rome wonderful.

The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was great, which it was. We have never posted a review on Trip Advisor, however did research the web site previously. We recognize there are many hotel choices in Rome, and next time we visit, we will be staying at Hotel Delle Muse and recommend you do as well.

This hotel is north of city center and in a residential area, therefore very quiet and tranquil. YET, just a block from the bus that goes to Termini and all the rest of center city. The food on site was average. Really enjoyed the quiet setting.

This is a great value for the money. The room was very pretty and large (no too crazy about the shower though), staff was very helpful and accommodating, breakfast was excellent. We also ordered dinner at the hotel restaurant twice, and the food was delicious and very well priced. As far as the location is concerned, based on the reviews, I expected it to be farther from Termini than it really is. I don't think it is any farther from Termini than any other neighborhood hotel, such as Campo de Fiori or Trastevere. The only inconvenience, is that 360 bus does not come too frequently. We took it at different times of the day and we always waited more than 1/2 hour, and on Sunday we waited 1 hour for it. So, if you need to catch a plane on Sunday, make sure to leave extra early, as you don't know how long you will have to wait for the 360. On a different note, there are many other ways to get to the hotel: tram 19, tram 3 or the train that you take from Flaminia (i believe) and in 2 stops you are at Aqua Acetosa, which is 10-15 min leisurely walk to the hotel. We tried everything to avoid taking the 360 and it was a lot of fun exploring... :) We would definitely stay there again...
