“Hotel Artemide, a great place to stay in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We visited Rome in April to celebrate our 40th. wedding anniversary and stayed at the Artemide Hotel. The location was perfect, being within walking distance of most of the main sights. But it was also very close to Termini, for the main bus station, train station and metro.
The room was a good size for a city hotel with a large bathroom well supplied with toiletries.
The staff were efficient, welcoming and friendly, a special thank you to Valentina at reception for all her help. As it was our anniversary, a complimentary bottle of red wine awaited us in our room. The free mini bar of soft drinks and beer was replenished each day and a generous supply of snacks were provided with the tea and coffee. We has a delicious meal in the rooftop restaurant, thank you to waiters Lorenzo and Eugenio, and were presented with a special dessert in honour of the occasion. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel and it was a really good choice. The hotel is well located, only 20 mins walk to the Colosseum and Forum. It's also 25/30 mins from the Trevi Fountain. It is close to the metro station and the central Termini station. We also walked along the river to the Vatican, but I wouldn't recommend it as it's miles away!

There are many small restaurants dotted around the streets near the hotel and as long as you stay away from the obviously tourist ones, the food and wine is very good.

The hotel itself was clean & smart and the staff friendly. Our room was a little smaller than we would have liked but we were out most of the day so it wasn't a problem. There were tea and coffee making facilities and the mini bar was complimentary (beer/soft drinks and water) which were replenished every day. The breakfast was always well stocked and on the first day we had lunch in the roof top restaurant. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: If you can upgrade your room, ours was a little small

Spent 4 nights here at end of April and were very impressed. Room was clean and well decorated. Some people have said that the rooms are dark but that's only because the outside shutters are in place - just open the window, raise the mosquito protector and you can fling the shutters open. Breakfast buffet was amazing with a huge choice which easily sets you up for the day. Try the roof terrace for dinner as well - excellent food and not unreasonable prices. For a more authentic Rome eating experience try Pizzeria Leon on Via Gerona which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel on via Gerona - down via Nationale and second left. This has great pizzas and you can sit outside in in a quiet side road and watch the theatre of Rome life go by - the waiters are great as well.

Room Tip: We had a courtyard room and were on the top floor - so if you want a quiet location ask for one of t...

Stayed at this hotel last March 2013. Room is very clean, location close to Termini. The receptionist was very helpful in giving us directions to the major attractions. Very convenient location. Breakfast was delicious, lots of variety to choose from. Would love to stay here again on the next visit!!!

We stayed at the Artemide for four nights in early March and had a great stay. The location was an easy walk from Termini station. The check in was easy and welcoming, in just a few minutes we were up in our room. Our room faced Via Nazionale, and there were no noise issues at all. And it was great to be able to open the windows and take in the city.
We like to walk, and from the hotel we could walk to the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and most of the other major sites... for folks not as eager to walk, its a quick walk to the metro and plenty of buses go by regularly.
We were fortunate to be upgraded to a Junior Suite, and it was a great room. Plenty of space, very roomy bathroom, and very comfy bed. The minibar is indeed free, restocked every day, and has soda, beer, water, and snacks. This was very refreshing after a long day of walking.
We ate in the hotel restaurant twice - very good food, better than average hotel food. Do make a reservation though... the front desk will be happy to help.
For rooms, I think they're all nice, but my sense is the elevator for the front building serves fewer rooms and floors, and so you'll get back and forth faster. We even used the fitness room and it has a little sauna and some basic machines.
And breakfast is a good sized buffet with very friendly staff.
This hotel is a GREAT value and a great place to stage a visit to Rome.

Room Tip: Don't worry about noise from Via Nazionale but try to get a room in the front building to minimi...

We are really pleased with our recent choice of hotel in Rome made via Trip Advisor. This hotel is in an excellent location, about 10 minutes walk from the central Termini Station in Rome and about 20 - 30 minutes from Colisseum, Forum and Pantheon, with good bus and train links. We took the tube to the Vatican and walked back to the Hotel via the Pantheon, Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. Via Nationale also has some rather nice clothes shops and good restaurants in the side streets. We chose to travel from the Airport (Fiamiciano) by bus which cost only 4 Euros with our Roma Pass and whilst slower than the train (1 hr) allowed us to see more scenery and some of Rome as we approached the station. The hotel reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and we had no trouble finding the hotel. Our room was clean and more spacious than we had expected for the reasonable price, considering its location in a European city. The bed was firm but lovely and large (6 ft across). Whilst the windows opened onto an internal area with view only of other rooms it was quiet with very good light exclusion (shutters, blackout and insect barriers) making for a good and peaceful night sleep. The bathroom included a bidet and good range of toiletries which my partner needed having had most of his chucked away by Easy Jet (another story...Damn Stalios). The complimentary mini bar was a nice surprise and included Italian lager as well as coke, Fanta, juice and still and fizzy water. Also a good range of teas, coffees, biscuits, nuts and crackers. I love a hotel breakfast and was not disappointed by the great choice of English and continental food, I am sure most nationalities would be well catered for. But the best of all was the beautiful roof top restaurant and bar. It was a lovely place to relax after a days sightseeing with bottle of wine (v good Sauvignon Blanc for 16 Euros), having an indoor restaurant opening onto a semi enclosed area with comfy sofas, soft lighting and heaters, then an open air terrace where you could just see St Peters. We ate there once and the food was lovely. It was my birthday whilst we were there and I received a complimentary bottle of fizz and a cake! The staff were all charming and courteous. On our return journey we took the Leonardo Express train from the central Termini station which was more expensive (14 euros) but quicker (30mins), but beware of beggars and people offering to "assist" you buy your ticket or find the train as they were quite persistent and irritating. We would really highly recommend this hotel. My only gripe, if forced, would be that the only TV channel we could receive in English was Sky, but who needs telly in Rome?

We stayed here with friends for 4 nights. The staff on reception answered emails promptly prior to our arrival and were helpful in recommending restaurants and booking tables for dinner. The bedrooms were nice, if lacking storage space. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the back as the hotel is on a busy road. There is a lovely rooftop bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy a glass of prosecco before/after heading out. The food in the restaurant was excellent, we ate here twice.

The room was kept very clean, tea and coffee replenished daily and there is a lounge area off the lobby where you can get a coffee after a day of sightseeing.

The hotel is situated within walking distance of most of the main tourist attractions. Will certainly stay here again if in Rome
