“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

What a little gem this hotel is. The staff at this hotel cannot do enough for you to ensure your stay in Rome is an enjoyable and memorable experience.
We stayed at the Artemide for five nights during March. Upon arrival we were informed that our room had been upgraded to a Superior room as I had mentioned in my email whilst arranging for a car to pick us up at the airport that our trip was a late honeymoon. When we entered our room we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, snacks and a card. Then a few minutes later a bottle of champagne arrived with more snacks to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Reception noticed from his passport that his was his birthday that day.
The room was perfect in size and spotlessly clean with everything you could need. Including a complimentary mini bar, bathrobes and slippers.
Breakfast was super with a fantastic selection available. The food in the rooftop restaurant was the best we had in Rome, a tad on the pricey side, but everything was in Rome was pricey.
You really can't beat the Artemide for location as all of Rome’s attractions are within easy walking distance, including the Vatican and Catacombs.
We highly recommend staying at the Artemide and if we return to Rome this would be our hotel of choice.

We loved everything about the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean with a complimentary minibar. The breakfast was excellent every morning. Be sure to visit Eugenio
at the rooftop bar. If he isn't too busy you will learn a lot about the history of Italy and places to visit that aren't the big tourist attractions. He and Emilio can offer suggestions on places to eat when away from the hotel. The hotel is on a busy street, so you can hear city noise if your room is on that side. However it didn't bother us.

The Hotel Artemide was a great place to stay with our two teenage daughters. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially when trying to track down my lost luggage at the airport! There was a lot of noise on the streets every night, but the hotel was located in the heart of the city with a lot of action nearby. I guess that should be expected. My husband asked to borrow an iron and they didn't even have one to loan out. Overall, our experience was a positive one though. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, and a lovely breakfast buffet to start off the day.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location. Probably has the best staff I have ever encountered as a frequent traveller, helpful and super friendly.
Extensive breakfast for Europe.
Bedrooms could be bigger but a small complaint.

Chose to stayed at this lovely hotel whilst in Rome after reading the reviews on trip adviser and it was perfect. The hotel in situated in a great location within walking distance to most of the major sites of Rome. The room was lovely and very quite even being in the center of Rome. The bed was a little to hard for my liking but my husband loved it. Personal preference. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent with a good variety. The fresh homemade ricotta was amazing. The staff were very helpful and the service and food in there restaurant was excellent.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would stay here again on my next visit to Rome.

Good location with bus stops not far from front door. 10 min easy walk from Termini.
Very clean everywhere. Comfortable beds. Good sauna. Tons of constantly hot water.
Breakfast plentiful and quick service.
Very nice touch of free drink on arrival and complimentary bottle for birthday delivered to room.
Had a big french window which was openable - not sealed in like more modern hotels.
Silent in the room even though it was next to lift.
Fridge contents and teamaking very useful and handy.
Rooftop new restaurant was nice. Staff in restaurants were very good and on the desk.
Could not fault it really. Had a wonderful time.

We had requested a quiet room and was allocated 612 (a Superior room) which faces the courtyard. Yes the shutters on the windows do make it a little gloomy but I would rather have that than the sound of traffic. This is a busy city!

I sent several emails to the hotel before we arrived and received very swift replies from Rosa. She arranged a car / driver to pick us up at the airport. This cost 60 Euros which is not cheap, I think a taxi is about 48 Euros but it was a treat to be whisked along in a Mercedes from the airport to the hotel door.

We enjoyed the goodies supplied in the free minibar. It was nice to drink a cold Peroni returning after a busy day and there plenty of bottles of water and nibbles to take out.

The breakfast room was very busy but there was no waiting for a table. Each day a waitress came around with a treat to try. The freshly made ricotta cheese was lush and mini donuts filled with creme patissiere melted in my mouth. It's just as well I was walking miles each day!

We ate in the hotel restaurant twice. As with most hotel dining rooms there is not a huge amount of atmosphere but the quality of the food and service was excellent. In fact we went ate out locally at 2 well rated restaurants on the other 2 nights and I preferred the hotel restaurant!!

It was our wedding anniversary and my birthday during our stay and we found a tasty bottle of Chianti on our arrival. Then on my birthday evening my favourite waiter surprised us with a delicious bottled of chilled Prosecco: 'to get your birthday evening celebrations started!' he said smiling.

Our room was not perfect as the mattress was too firm for me but the pillows were soft and the linens crisp and spotless. The hotel certainly met our needs and ensured that our first visit to Rome was memorable. I threw a coin over my shoulder into the Trevi Fountain so I will return to this hotel one day!

Thank you to staff and management.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper like me ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel.
