“Maintains a standard after 4 years”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Previous happy visit lead to the re-visit. The features from before, remain.
- helpful reception staff, all day
- comfortable, quiet and very clean rooms. Easy to use wifi. Small mini bar supply useful.
- prompt room tidy when sign left on door, early
- busy breakfast room with good food selection, and efficient and observant staff.
- convenient location, is an easy 10 minute walk to Termini, and to Republican metro.
Well done Artemide.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms in rear section of building.

We stayed in Artemide Hotel March 2013 for 2 nights and it was a fantastic experience. It is within a 6-8 minute easy walk for the Termini Station and also within easy walking distance of all the major sites to see in Rome. Upon arrival we were greeted with fantastic, efficient English speaking staff who gave us an upgrade (!! thank you very much - we'll take it!). The mini bar is included and 2 free vouchers to have a coffee or sparkling white wine at the rooftop restaurant. This restaurant is brilliant. Having a great coffee on the roof top terrace with view to the Vatican and a snuggle blanket too if needed! We had dinner in the restaurant 2 nights in a row and it was divine. The only negative that I can remark on is that there is no where to park - we hired a car and we while we planned to drop our bags off and then return the car to the hire company, there was no where to park out the front to get the bags out. I ended up half driving on the sidewalk and protruding into the road. Thankfully my husband got the bags out quickly before I drove off again to return the car. Overall though - a great experience.

I completely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was outstanding. The rooftop restaurant/bar had really good food and was surprisingly affordable. It is also a very attractive setting. I was a senior woman travelling solo, and the staff in the restaurant went out of their way treating me nicely. I also appreciated the free mini bar and all the little amenities, including free slippers. In terms of the lift, it was a little quirky but I believe it is part of the hotel's charm.

The hotel is in walking distance to many of the city's attractions, and buses to just about anywhere in the city run along Via Nazionale.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rome.

Room Tip: The lift is slow and somewhat quirky. My room was on the third floor so it did not really present a...

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Artemide Hotel - a choice based on reviews in Tripadvisor. We weren't disappointed. We really liked the hotel's location on Via Nazzionale - we walked to Piazza Veneizia, Campo Di Fiore, Piazza Navona and the surroundings. Took cabs when we went to the Vatican area - but there are busses and a metro station right there.
The hotel itself is lovely - the room very nice and the bathroom large (we took a triple superior room, so this may not be typical). The staff was very nice. Breakfast excellent and extremely well -run. Each morning we were offered fresh ricotta cheese by a waitress that made the rounds of the diners. We were on the 5th floor and elevator was fine for us - room for 4 people, 5 would be crowded. We had a room facing a small inner courtyard which was very quiet. I think a room facing the street from the 3rd floor up would be fine also. A tip for the inner rooms - the staff leave the outer metal shutters fastened together, which leaves only a small slit for light. However, you can open the window and lift the screen and easily remove the latch on the shutters and open or close them to your heart's content, getting as much light or as much privacy as you want. I recall some reviewers mentioning this "problem", which is simple to solve. Only criticism we had for the hotel was that the water in the morning was reasonably warm but not really hot, probably from lots of use at that time. My wife had a shower in the evening with really hot water. Free mini-bar is also a plus at this hotel, along with kettle in room and coffee. Also had a safe - but no irons or ironing boards in rooms. Lovely sitting area in lobby - also with kettle and free coffee and tea at all hours. We were shown the upper terrace restaurant, which is beautiful, although we didn't have an opportunity to eat there. You have a view all the way to the dome at St Peter's.

Room Tip: Inner courtyard rooms are quiet. 5th floor is nice. You can open the outer metal shutters to let in...

Italian hotels in general tend to be a star less than what you would get in other parts of Europe. Notwithstanding, this hotel lives up to its 4 star standard. The staff were very efficient and helpful with whatever we needed, the breakfast was spot-on, rooms comfortable and the rooftop restaurant/bar excellent. Only regret was that we weren't there to experience it in the summer with the long nights looking over the whole city.

Ideally located on Via Nazionale and close to Termini and only a 10minute walk from the Colosseum and Trevi fountain, you can't ask for better value right on the doorstep of all the attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that only connects to one other, and is not sandwiched between two

We booked this hotel on the basis of previous TA reviews and were not disappointed. The staff were uniformly excellent, the breakfast was great and the location perfect. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the problems experienced with the lift during our stay (our room was on the 6th floor, so climbing the stairs was probably good for us but became a bit of a chore) and also our room (a superior double, recommended) didn't have any view at all - it looked out on a wall.
But overall a top notch hotel in this wonderful city.

Dear guest,

Many thanks for your kind words on our staff, service and property. We are glad that your stay with us was overall enjoyable.

Unfortunately, from the information you provide on your review, we are unable to understand if there was an actual problem with the lift during your stay, or if you were staying in the Superior Double Room on the 5th floor, which is a penthouse with no lift access from the 4th floor. The penthouse is normally a sought-after room, for its quietness and for the added sense of privacy it gives our guests. It is separated from the main building by a flight of stairs (approximately 10 steps), but the general lift arrives up to the floor immediately below. We normally assign this room to younger couples, or guests who don’t have mobility issues, naturally. This is also an internal room, therefore it faces the courtyard, instead of bustling Via Nazionale, and the view is that of the buildings that surround it. However, since is on the top floor, it enjoys natural sunlight throughout the day.

If this wasn’t the case, and there was indeed a problem with the lift and you were staying in any other room on the 6th floor, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused you and we hope that this issue didn’t compromise your perception of our hotel and the enjoyment of your stay.

Again, we would like to thank you for sharing your opinions about the Hotel Artemide and we hope to see you again in Rome very soon.
