“Will be my "Rome Hotel"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

The Hotel Artemide was my home in Rome for eight nights in December. Thankfully, all the good reviews rang true and I had a wonderful stay. Comfy bed, great breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff.

This was our first time in Rome. We had a cheaper place booked originally but changed to this one after reading the reviews. Stayed 12/30/11 through 1/6/12. The hotel was very clean and in good location. The staff was very excellent - front desk staff helpful with all needs, breakfast staff friendly and good service, and room cleaning was top-notch. One of our rooms was first floor by the street and too noisy for me, so the staff moved us to the back of the hotel at the first opportunity. Alessandro and everyone at the front desk helped us with restaurant arrangements, taxi's, and directions to major tourist sites. Wake-up calls were always dependable and on the minute. This was our home away from home and I would recommend to any that can afford it.

This is a great hotel in central Rome, within easy access to all of the major sites and squares. The service is PERFECT. We could not have asked for more.

The hotel IS on a very busy street though, so make sure you ask for a quiet room. We were given a quiet room, so the entire experience was excellent. We will definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit to Rome!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at the Artemide for 1 night for a weekend in Rome.  We arrived via bus which was very simple and cheap (they state that it is €4pp however when you get to the bus they charge €8pp -cheap none the less.) The bus stop is approx. 10 minutes walk from the hotel if you wait until the final stop - there are only 2 anyway.

We arrived at 12.30 a.m and did not request our room to be ready upon arrival however we were shocked when we were handed the key straight away (certainly not something you would expect in Europe, speaking from experience.)

The room and en suite were very well presented with beautiful high ceilings. The bed was comfortable and seemed larger than average, the shower was powerful, decoration was tasteful and the views were lovely - the road could be heard but was to be expected. We were on the 1st floor and did not hear nor see our neighbours.  The mini bar was stocked, tea and coffee making facilities were provided as well as nuts and biscuits and included in the room price, also refilled daily.  A safety deposit box was included which we rely on and is sometimes not provided elsewhere. A vast supply of toilletries was provided for both of us (rare) and re-stocked daily also - we have never experienced this even in 5* accomodation. We had bright yellow slippers, reception were more than happy to provide anything we had forgotten and the room service seemed good value as well as the bar (you are also given a voucher for a free glass of wine - bonus!)

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and we had our bags taken to our room (not something we have experienced in Europe before.) A manned room is provided for you to stow your luggage if you have a late flight like we did.

We visited the hotel bar on the 7th floor where heaters were provided for colder nights.  The terrace provides nice views of the city with comfy seating, tables and waiter service.

Location is excellent however the attractions in Rome are fairly spread out.  The Artimide is about 10 minutes from the Collosseum and about 15 minutes from the Trevi Fountain. There are a few bars, restuarants and shops within walking distance and a really nice family run Italian restuarant about 200 metres right of the hotel. We caught a taxi to the Vatican City (40 minutes walk if you're good with a map) which you'd expect to pay between €8 and €10.

Overall for location, price, standards and space provided we would be more than happy to come back to this hotel and we can see why it is so highly rated. This review really does not do justice to the Artemide as we could not fault it in any way (we are very fussy.) I would go as far as to say this is the best hotel we have stayed in whilst travelling in Europeand would highly recommend it.

We booked Hotel Artemide for an eight night stay which included New Year's Eve. We chose the hotel on the basis of the excellent reviews it had received. We were thrilled with every aspect of our stay there.

The email communications with Mattheo at the hotel before we arrived were very helpful, thorough and friendly.

We were very warmly greeted after some 36 hours of travel and given discounts on the Roof top restaurant and other useful bits and pieces.

The Hotel is a beautiful, historic building with a charming, graceful atmosphere.

Our room was very quiet, peaceful, easy to completely darken if you wanted to and roomy with well appointed with lots of storage room, lots of coat hangers, and very well appointed and perfectly functioning bathroom. You are able to open the huge windows for fresh air if you wish to.

The free mini bar is delightful, thoughtful and very convenient for tired travelers.

The location is fantastic. Very convenient to all the Roman icons and great for shopping.

We did a day trip to Venice during our stay and were able to easily walk from the hotel to the train station. I would suggest travelers consider taking the train to Florence and/or Naples rather than a tour bus - very easy, comfortable and fun. Venice is a long fast train trip but well worth it - we were back at the hotel before midnight. We took a tourist coach tour to Florence on the second day of our stay. We loved Florence and made a friend on the bus but overall decided that independent travel for day tours and to see all the fantastic sights was most comfortable and best value for money for us.

Taking a hop on, hop off bus tour is a good introduction to Rome on your first day or so if you are a bit weary. We bought three day Roma Passes for the metro but only used them once to go to the Vatican. Walked all the rest of the time - fantastic!

The housekeeping at the Artemide is of an astounding standard - congratulations on this to the management - far better than in any 5 star hotel I have stayed in.

The breakfast buffet was consistently excellent and our room service was also good.

We enjoyed the Rooftop Terrace garden for New Year's Eve dinner and celebrations.

Christmas and New Year is a fabulous time to visit Rome. The Christmas decorations are elegant and an absolute delight everywhere. It is not too cold - lovely and fresh - and the crowds and queues are manageable especially before 9.30am in the morning or late afternoon.

We did not have a single problem during our 8 night stay at the Hotel Artemide and were very sorry to leave. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. We travel extensively, have stayed in many 5 star hotels for business and pleasure and I am very happy to say that this hotel is genuinely top class.

We look forward to coming back for another New Year hopefully not too far in the future.

I just arrived from Rome and stayed at Artemide Hotel for 5 days. Although, the hotel is a bit far from major attractions other than the Colosseum, the train station is right there, which can get you anywhere. One of the biggest things the hotel has is all the little perks you get for free. The hotel has free mini bar which includes water, juices, cookies, crackers...This is a nice little perk especially when you are thirsty in the middle of the night! One of my husbands favorites was the free WiFi which we did not have in any other hotel in Europe. Along with this there is a beautiful roof top terrace, which they give you two free prosecco vouchers to enjoy on. The hotel is very well maintained and clean and the staff is very helpful. All in all its a great choice.

I stayed at the Artimede from 12/31 to 1/5 and loved it. The hotel is a solid 4 star hotel, but the location, amenities, and service is 5+. The room was nicely decorated and had all the perks others have described, snacks, water, and soda in the free minibar. There is free Wi-Fi in the room, this was great since a lot of hotels in Rome charge $20-25 per day for WiFi.
The breakfast buffet was good, I didn't get to eat there everyday since I had so many early morning tours planned. On the days I got to eat breakfast I found the food to be varied and the service was excellent. Room service was a dissapointment, the food was not good. I ordered dinner one night, since I was too tired to go out after a long day trip, the food was barely edible, but you don't go to Rome to eat hotel food, so I'm not mad at them.

The number one reason you should pick this hotel is LOCATION: It is 5 blocks away from Tremini station(central station). It's within a 10-20 minute walk to most major atttractions like Trevi fountain, Navona fountain, Forum and Col. The hotel is located on Via Nazionale, which is full of buses and two blocks away from the train. I also found two supermarkets close to the hotel. I was able to buy snacks for lunch on days I didn't have time for a sit down meal. There is also a pharmacy across the street from the hotel should you need it.

Staff was always helpful and went out of their way to ensure I had all I needed.
