“Meat not Pasta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

I found Maxela (Rome) wandering the small streets of old Rome. The menu is simple, mainly
meat that has been directly brought to the restuarant from the producer. The quality is great
and the prices very reasonable. The Carpaccio with olives, capers etc. is outstanding. Also tried the grilled sausage that took top marks. They serve only limited pastas, but they have an awesome "Tiramisu". They feature products direct from the producer and their bottled house wine also comes in both 1/2 and full bottles and is very good quality. Very pleasant service.

“Excellent meat restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

We had a lovely meal at the Via delle Coppelle branch recently. The beef was excellent and very good value. Very happy to recommend. It was a shame the evening we were there it was very quiet. It deserves to be busy!

“Excellent for meet lovers”

We visited the Via della Coppele branch which was very friendly and pleasant.
The restaurant specializes in meat dishes at moderate-high prices.
Good atmosphere.

“Best meat in the city center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

We use to go there whenever we want to eat good meat at a very good price.
Even located at walking distance from San Pietro, it isn't a touristic restaurant.
They have a very good choice of meat and hamburgers. Meat comes directly from the farm of the restaurant and wine as well. The staff is very kind.
They also have a child menu.
I use to have tartare and tagliata, but also the fiorentina is very good as well.

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, it is excellent, great food, brilliant atmosphere, and it's off the beaten track a little although close enough to the Vatican, it is a little Gem we stumbled across and after a lot of bad meals in Rome, this one was a standout. Thank you.
