This hotel was everything the positive reviews said it would be. The staff were helpful and attentive, even finding out where my husband could buy tickets for the football the evening before the game (the answer is the tobacconist on the corner of Via Leonida and Via dei serpenti).

The common areas of the hotel are very nicely done and spotless. Breakfast was a feast of just about anything you could desire, from eggs and bacon to cold meats, cereals, fruit, pastries and croissants, toast and preserves.

The room was small but perfectly formed with a wooden floor and a six foot bed. Extra pillows were brought when we asked and I can honestly say I had the best nights sleep I've had in many a long night. The room overlooked the little piazza and was triple glazed so very quiet. The bathroom was great, all spotless marble and designer shower. Toiletries provided gratis. There was also air conditioning, but we didn't need it. A well stocked mini bar and TV was also provided.
Two small things that would have made my stay 5* would have been a drawer for my smalls (only hanging space and shelves) and a kettle so I could brew up in the room, but these really are small niggles.

Cavour metro stop is within sight of the hotel but you can easily walk to the sights from the hotel. Central but quiet. Perfect!

I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough and no, I'm not related to the owner!

I travelled to Rome in October with my Partner. When we got to the hotel it seemed nice and the receptionist was very pleasant. We got our room key and was guided out of the hotel to the 'Annex Building'. It was like an apartment block with no carpet on the floors or paint on the walls. What seemed like the hotel bought additional rooms outside in another building. It was awful. The rooms were VERY small with a lot of moscito's, which my partner got eaten alive! The breakfast was not great either, very poor choice. Value for money = Definitely not! Only good thing was location as it is very near the Coliseum.

modern boutique hotel in an old building in a real neighborhood of rome, very narrow cobblestone street..location convenient to metro, local restaurants which are very good and cheaper then ones near the tourist attractions., we walked to all the historic sites..great location for that.
room was small but well equipped, lots of nice touches.
Breakfast was definitely a step up..pretty room, real china and glassware, brkfst staff very hardworking. food was croissants/ pastries/muffins/ nutella spreads/ assorted breads/ pannini maker/ ham cheese/ italian cold cuts/ bacon and scrambled eggs/ hard cooked eggs and fresh fruit ( kiwis, melons, apples. tangerines).
large upscale lobby, front desk courteous

price paid was 188 euros per nite for each double room ( 2 rooms....ouch). Rome is not cheap

We just left this gem of a hotel. It is near many ruins, restaurants, tube, and gelaterias but tucked off the main streets. Somewhat noisy but if you close double windows, it is very quiet. Staff was very helpful and gracious. Buffet breakfast a full meal, lovely servers. Room and bath were stylish, small but adequate. High speed complimentary WIFI. Computer on street level for those who do not bring their laptops. I would recommend. I will return. No parking but 200' from tube stop. Thanks d'Alba!

My husband and I stayed here for four nights (three nights at the beginning of our trip and 1 night at the end) and enjoyed this hotel immensely. The metro stop located just 100 yards away was super convenient, the breakfast was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in initially in the main hotel was rather small, but well appointed and included a balcony. The last night we stayed in the annex and enjoyed a much larger bedroom and bathroom, but did have to use three different keys to get into our room and climb a couple flights of stairs (no elevator). Though the hotel sits within walking distance from the Coliseum, we didn't feel the area was overly touristy and had a lot of local flavor.
