As other reviews have said, the location of the hotel was terrific for exploring Rome. No more than a five minute walk to the Colosseum. The breakfast was included, and was adequate. I wasn't so concerned about the room size, or even the moldy black stuff that blew out of the bathroom fan whenever you turned it on, as I was about the bed. The room was advertised as a 2-person room, but for my wife and I to fit, we had to lie in opposite directions (like with her feet near my head). Also, the bed was quite lumpy, there was like a hill in the middle of the mattress. The advertised Air Conditioner wasn't working...luckily we went in April, so it wasn't too hot. All in all, when you're jetlagged and walking around all day outside, if you need a good night's rest, this isn't the place.

We stayed in Edera hotel for four nights. It was very easy to find and very close to the metro and buses. The room was small but good. Breakfast was good too.

  • Liked — it was very central and peaceful
  • Disliked — the breakfast room was below the ground floor level and lift stops at the ground floor

We stayed at the Edera in early June. Although reading many reviews to be careful as they use this hotel's location as a 'trap' and then tranfer the clients to other hotels in the same chain, we decided to give it a go, as our main concern was having a parking spot for our rental car!

We had no problems. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was buffet style with a good variety of choices. It had a frigobar & tv.

Parking space available for EU 10 per night.

It's right around the corner from the park where Domus Aurea is. Crossing this park, you're right in front of the Colisseum, where you will also find a subway station. This park closes at night, but you can go around it. There are lots of nice bars close to the park.

We were very lucky with this choice!

  • Liked — Staff and location
  • Disliked — Just the fact that the park closes at night, but that's not a big problem

Nice, clean, silent (!!!) hotel, very friendly staff, good breakfast (considering that Italians don't take b/f), excellent location (15min walk from train station, 3min walk to Colosseum, good connections with publ transport).
House keeping could once in a while fix some things.

  • Liked — Friendlyness, location
  • Disliked — Some little things to fix in the room

I stayed at this hotel in June for 4 days and found it very quaint, very Roman, and most importantly the location is perfect for exploring Rome. The Colusseum is minutes away and we walked everywhere around the city - no need to get trains or taxis. The hotel itself is fine - small rooms as expected, but with an authentic feel. Check out the original cage style lift, garden courtyard, and paintings on the walls. If you're looking for a central location, mid-priced hotel then this is perfect for your stay in Rome - a beautiful place.
