Situated next to the Opera, the hotel is just a short walk from Termini station and main metro/bus routes. You will be greeted warmly by Toni and the other staff - all friendly and polite.

Rooms are a bit 'compact & bijou' but spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with a safe (€2.50 per day), aircon and ensuite shower/WC. Rooms are cleaned daily, with crisp cotton sheets and a lovely firm bed too!!!! Buffet style continental breakfast is simple and adequate, with fresh fruit and rolls, and the breakfast area is kept stocked & tidy by the pleasant staff.

The hotel is convenient for all the main tourist attractions - Colosseum or Trevi Fountain are a 20 mins walk, or a 24hr bus/metro pass will cost just €4, useful for when the feet begin to ache! We opted for guided tours at the Colosseum & Palatine (€22), Vatican (€45) and Renaissance Rome (€45 including a meal) - not cheap, but you jump all the queues and get to see so much more of the essential historical facts & places. Just make sure you get an official tourist guide.

To summarise: this is a great value hotel at under €100 per night, and the staff are all helpful and pleasant. We would be delighted to stay here again!

We just returned from a holiday in Italy with stayed in numerous hotels. This hotel can be rated as one of the best in its class.
Very close to Termini, shopping, and all other important places. Plenty of restaurants around and supermarket too.
Hotel rooms are very spacious according to Europian/Italian standards, Also fully re-furbished and very clean and neat. Staff are very customer focused and very helpful/ Special mention to Tony at the reception, In addition you get free Wi-fi to the room.
What moe you can ask from a 3 star rated hotel but with 4 star facilities and yet very reasonably priced. (you need to spend at least another 50 euros to the rates to get hotel of this calibire in Rome)

We strongly recomend this hotel for any traveller visiting Rome

We stayed in Hotel Lirico for 5 nights in the middle of June 2009. We had stayed here a couple of years ago, and returned as the Hotel has a good base, and was very good value for money. On our most recent visit, the Hotel has made improvements to the reception and breakfast area. These improvements did make our stay better than the last. The Lirico is very clean and even though the rooms are on the small side, they are adequate for a short stay in Rome. Everyone in the hotel is very helpful. The Lirico will not disappoint, as the location and standard of the hotel is very high,

i stayed with my 2 small children. evrything was perfect. breakfast good. a good hard bed - great nights sleep after a long day touring round Rome.Small rooms - so what! is adequate enough and didnt go to Rome to stay in the room all day!!. i went here after reading recomendations at this site - now is my turn to warmly recomend in return. There is a litle supermarket on your right as you go out the door of hotel - just accros the road.ther are great cafes with great food(for the kids-cant beat the pasta!) and good icecream.
7 min walk from main train station(termini) and open top bus tours (round trip 2.5 hrs best way to see all -20E adult,15E kids - ticket good for 24 hrs) . Will DEFINITELY go back there when in Rome. GO FOR IT and enjoy!

Hotel is a good value for the money.
Helpful and easy going staff, clean room and good location. The breakfast was simple, but very tasty, especially the coffee!

The bed and pillows were quite hard to sleep on( which we didn't mind at all, but some people might find it uncomfortable).
