“"Excellent Position" In Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Just returned from this hotel in Rome, Excellent position, right next door to the Rome Opera House (Teatro Dell Opera), very close to the main Train and Bus Station. The hotel is very, very clean with modern bathrooms and lovely decor bedrooms, the rooms are serviced every day,the staff can't do enough for you and the breakfast is excellent quality and plenty of it. Stones throw to all shopping areas, restaurants and pubs. Search the area and you'll find excellent chinese and Indian restaurants close by. You can also buy open top bus tickets from reception, which we can recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Opera House

Cosy, comfortable and quiet room which was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have done more for us. The location is perfect and within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and the Pantheon. Breakfasts were fresh, and there was always plenty with a constant supply of food coming from the kitchen. We were in Rome for our honeymoon, and a bad hotel could easily have ruined it for us. Luckily we booked this brilliant little hotel, and we'll definitely be back again.

I booked a triple as part of an expedia package deal at a very affordable rate for 5 nights. Our room was in the back and on the small side but with a high ceiling. Rooms on front side looked bigger. We had 3 twin beds, small table and 2 chairs, cabinet/closet, small tv we did not watch, and bathroom with tub-shower combo. We sat in the breakfast room in the evenings and had a drink so room size was not a big deal. My teenagers loved the free wifi. Service was especially helpful with bags on stairs and airport transfer, directions, etc. Breakfast was a buffet with standard Italian offerings as other hotels. Best part was location. Easy walk from Termini/metro stop in extremely safe neighborhood next to Opera, 15 minute walk to Colosseum and Forum.

Nice and clean hotel close to Termini station, just aside Teatro dell'Opera. Extremely friendly and helpfull staff. Quite a large double room with add. sofa and big bathroom with a bath. Simple but "ok" breakfast with good espresso/cappuccino/latte macchiato, but be careful with just "coffee" - it has a terrible taste. No fridge/bar in the room, which is quite inconvenient. However quite a fair price is of advantage. Highly recommended for unpretentios city travelers.

Hotel Lirico simply fit the bill. Our initial room smelled a bit like someone had smoked in it, and when we asked for a new room, we were rewarded with a huge room with a sofa in it. The breakfast, which was included in the room price was delicious with something for everyone. The cafe lattes were yummy as well. The receptionist couldn't do enough for us. On top of everything else is it's convenient location. Hotel Lirico hits all the right notes.

We have just returned from a New Year's trip to Rome and in terms of location, Hotel Lirico was spot on! It was within walking distance from the Colesseum, Vatican City, Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Although there are Metro and bus services available, we preferred to walk and look at the other sights along the way.

Yes, there is a flight of steps at the entrance to the hotel but neither of us found this a problem. The elevator to the second and third floors was cramped though, especially with luggage. The room was smaller than we expected but for the little time we spent there, it was perfect. We did notice a smell coming from the bathroom, but by keeping the door shut most of the time it didn't really bother us.

The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Our airport transfer back home was booked for 4.45am and we weren't sure that they would turn up considering the early hours of the morning but reception called up the company and confirmed our booking, putting our minds at ease.

Hotel Lirico is in a prime location and I would recommend anyone looking for comfortable and simple accomodation on a budget to check this hotel out.

From the first moment we stepped into the reception of the hotel, Tony greeted us with a huge, warm smile and was super friendly and helpful. He recommended excellent yet reasonable restaurants near the hotel and both were perfect for what we were looking for. Hotel was really clean and tastefully decorated. Our room was quiet, bed was very comfy and bathroom had modern fixtures. Breakfast was delightful and bountiful with a variety of choices including breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juices, excellent cappuccino. It was included in the room price. Three of our party had an early flight and needed to leave before the normal breakfast time. Tony arranged for them to be served coffee and croissants before the 7 minute walk (with luggage) to Termini station to get the shuttle bus to the airport (which runs every 15-30 minutes beginning at 5am). Location was fantastic! It's true that you need to walk up one flight of stairs before getting to the actual hotel, but there is an elevator inside to access the rooms. We will DEFINITELY stay here again. Great value!
