This hotel is a good value for its location, clealiness, and helpful staff. Our room was small but it was very clean. The bathroom was a good size and modern. We laughed at the thin towels but they did the job. The staff was very helpful in recommending places to eat. The elevator only goes to the 4th floor and it is very small - two people at the most with small luggage. Don't take a room on the 5th floor unless you can do stairs. The breakfast is average and only has six tables. (The elevator doesn't go to the basement either) I sat on the stairs enjoying my coffee until a table became free - perhaps a 10 minute wait. We wanted to be near Termini (the main train station) due to an early flight out and excess to good public transportation. This is the place!

The Patria hotel couldn’t be better located with clean and comfortable rooms.

Breakfast was more than adequate. Help yourself to cornflakes, fruit salad, ham, croissant, rolls, honey and jam. The breakfast room may be small (6 tables) but even at busy times the wait was only a few minutes.

The staff were friendly and helpful looking after our luggage after check out and were more than happy to let us watch the 6 Nations Rugby in the hotel lounge area till 5pm (when we had to catch our bus to the airport).

The Hotel is a 10 min walk from the Termini. If you get off the airport bus from Ciampino walk back along the Via Marsala and cut through the Termini. Leaving by the front door, follow the footpath straight past the bus station (on your left) and cross the main road. Go left and follow the footpath round to the right. At the fountain in the Piazza della Repubblica cross the road into Via Nazionale. Take the first right into Via Torino and you will see the Patria Hotel sign.

If you can visit Settimio in Via Delle Cononnelle (just off the Piazza Capranica) for an excellent meal in a restaurant full of Italians. Try to get one of the 4 tables in the front room where you will be served by ‘Papa’ who makes the experience even better.

This is a Great, clean but small Hotel (with small lift). It is in close proximity of the Train station (termini) 5 minute walk and only about 15 - 20 minutes walk to most of Rome's main attractions. Breakfast is adequate but minimal space and tables. Shower cabins are not made for bigger people. Service was warm and friendly. Would recommend this hotel for a 1 week stay in Rome!!

The hotel was fine, but needs a little redecorating. The style seems a bit outdated. We stayed in two different rooms - both triples. The first room was very tight. The third bed seemed to just have been dropped in the middle of the room. The second room was much roomier. Both rooms had a working refrigerator and the air conditioning was definitely a plus.
Via Torino is very close to the Repubblica metro station, and there are a bunch of shops and things to do around there. However, it's a bit of a walk to any of the real sites, and we spent most of our time walking because the metro in Rome is not the best.
The staff were not looking to socialize. They give you your room key, and that's it. Maybe it's because none of us spoke Italian. I would recommend the hotel for a casual trip. You won't find romance at the Patria Hotel.
