This hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and the rooms are large and clean. We arrived by 11am and there was no problem checking into our room straight away, so that we could get out and check out the city. The hotel is very close to the metro and within easy walking distance of the Trevi Fountain. The breakfast were really nice and had something for everyone, even though breakfast finishes at 10am the staff were refilling the buffet at 9.55!

The hotel is situated well i Rome. Easy to go to most of the famous places, easy to reach the Metro, get a taxi and easy to go to the bus-trips around the city.
If you have rooms out against the street you must expect some noise. The rooms in the front are, to our opinion, some small. No good chair to rest in.
BUT, DO NOT book your stay when Venezuelan girls on there yearly rountrip i Europe stay in the hotel. There are not disiplin, and it seems that the reception or the girs leaders do not care if the girls are keeping the other guests awake most of the night. Sorry about that, but it looked more like a kindergarden than i four-star hotel!!
Otherwise the service was good , and the restaurant service was very good.

  • Liked — The restaurant service
  • Disliked — Living in the hotel with abt 100 unsivilised Venezuelan girls keeping me awake half the niight!!!

I cannot express enough how much we loved this hotel. The customer service was THE BEST we have had in a long time, and for our entire trip which consisted of 3 different hotels in Rome, Florence, and Sorrento. My parents raved about the Imperiale and that was almost 40 years ago, and most of our friends only stay there when in Rome. Roberto, Joseph, Almerica and the entire staff were always on hand to help us out. Roberto went out of his way months ago to email me about making arrangements for a papal audience and actually doing the legwork for me, emailing me several times with options and updates. We booked the audience through Vastours (watch out for them) and they FORGOT to pick us up on the morning of the audience! The bus had already left and I was left devastated and crying at the front desk because it ruined my reason for going there and my once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Pope. Almerica went into action so quickly, got into an argument with the Vastours person in the lobby for what they did to us and summoned a cab immediately to take us there. The cab got to the hotel in about 1 minute! We made it in enough time to see the Pope. On our way to Sorrento from Rome after checking out, we couldn't take the bus and called the Imperiale to arrange for a driver well after we checked out and were at Tiburtina bus station. Again, Almerica made the arrangements and a driver showed up in 20 minutes. We stayed there again on our last night from Florence to Rome to get the flight to JFK, and once again the staff went out of their way and also gave us a free upgraded room. The only downside, if there is one, is that the beds are pretty simple and apparently not great for back problem sufferers. They are two twin beds pushed together. I didn't mind it at all, but a larger person or someone with back problems might. We also gave each reception clerk a small tip because it was so well deserved, and they all didn't want to take it and were so gracious to us.

  • Liked — Customer service and of course PRIME location on Via Veneto
  • Disliked — Beds

We were in a quad so actually the room size was adequate. I don't think it was worth the money; however, the location was ideal! We found the staff to be very rude and not helpful at all. We would often pass by the reception area without anyone greeting us. The staff just simply couldn't be bothered. I always felt that I was putting the staff out if I called from the room with a question.

As reported many times, the breakfast definitely needed improvement. The orange juice tasted like Tang; the coffee was probably the worst I have ever tasted. Milk was too warm for cereal. The staff again seemed uninterested in looking after their customers.

The rooms and the linen were very clean. I don't think I would go back. Management really needs to take a look at the front line staff. They have no idea as to how to provide good customer service. They do not seem interested in repeat business!!

We had a wonderful experience with this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic - close to the metro, Spanish Steps, Trevi, etc.
Highly recommend this hotel in Rome. Would gladly stay there again when we return to the city.
