Styed in the Mediterraneo on a surprise trip to Rome. Was delighted with the hotel. Located 2 blocks from the train station (Termini) it was handy when we got off the plane to get the train directly into the city centre.

The hotel was lovely with 10 floors, the 10th with a roof terrace/bar which terrific views of the city, well worth a look even if your not staying there!

The room had twin beds even though a double was booked, easily pushed together! Room was quiet spacious. The only real bad side was that the safe was a bit didgy and took a lot of tries to get finally locked. The bathroom was spacious amd light.

We stayed here twice this June, for 2 nights at a time. The rooms vary considerably in size - on our second stay we requested a move, as our room reeked of smoke and the floors were uneven and creaked loudly. They gave us a choice of alternatives, so we saw the variations in size. We ended up with an excellent room - very spacious and with a lovely outlook. Most rooms are quiet due to the double-hung windows, although one of our group found themselves over a loading bay, which was unpleasant. On our second stay a gay rights parade, complete with 100+ decibel bands, took place right under our window - after we were tired of watching we discovered how effective the silencing was!
We found the front desk very efficient and pleasant, and the concierge helpful (our taxis and airport limousine arrived promptly). The breakfast buffet was excellent.
Yes, the lifts are old, but we seldom had to wait long. We loved the rooftop bar/restaurant - nobody minded us wandering around gawping at the views! Great for a late night coffee.
It is not a cheap hotel, but we would stay there again.

Mediterraneo is centrally located less than a 1/2 block away from the main train/subway station, which makes it very easy for getting around Rome on the metro. We arrived Sunday morning around 11am and our room was ready for us. The room itself was huge: living room, bedroom, and a huge bathroom. The bed was ok.

They have a morning buffet, which was included in the price we paid. If was nice inexpensive way to have a breakfast. It wasn't the biggest buffer, but it was tasty.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in May. The room was spacious, clean, and the staff very helpful for tips on resturaunts etc. The location was convenient to the termi and transportation if wanted, however we walked to all sights with the exception of the Vatican.

The location of the hotel is great---right next to Termini Station, the subway, and buses. The outside of the hotel looks relatively modern, but inside it's a blast from the past. The elevators are small and slow, and the rooms are, well... old. The green curtains, faded wood floors, and even the artwork seem to have been there for quite a while. The pillows were noticeably uncomfortable. On the plus side, the staff were very courteous, moreso than other places we stayed in Italy, and the breakfast buffet was very good. If you do stay here, try the Nueva Stella Trattoria around the corner for dinner -- it's excellent and affordable.
