My wife and I just returned yesterday from 3 nights in Rome at the Forum. The Forum is exceptionally well situated for the Colosseum, Forum, and Palantine Hills as well as seconds away from a number of basic restaurants, convenience stores, pizza and gelato shops. Every other touristy site in Rome involves a bus/tube ride. All bus/tube connections are close as everything goes by the Colosseum.
The lobby/entry is well appointed with dark woods, marble floors and leather furniture. The staff are professional and helpful, if not particularly outgoing or friendly.
We had to change rooms upon arrival as the air con was not working properly. The staff had no problem making the change and moving our belongings. The new room was fine, not particularly large or exceptionally well-appointed but clean and comfortable (two twin beds together to make a large bed-not uncommon in the area). There was a large wardrobe for storage.
Street noise was there but not a real problem. We of course could hear people wandering up and down the halls but no noise from other rooms or too late at night.
The roof top breakfast was quite good we thought-same food each day but decent variety and quality. Unbeatable view.
Upon checkout they were happy to store our bags all day as our plane was not leaving until 9:00pm.
Final verdict? Not mind-blowing but certainly more than adequate-no major complaints.
