The only place I have stayed in Rome, so hard to contextualise, however...
Far out of the city, but does run a shuttle bus (I didn't try this). The desk staff were extremely helpful, giving (good) maps & advice on buses, the metro and taxis. I could not fault the service they gave, which was the best part of the hotel.
Otherwise ok but not remarkable. Breakfast adequate but not inspiring.
However I must say that the balcony rooms have views over the city that are quite spectacular.
I would try and stay somewhere closer in next time, if I could get a comparable price. However, with taxis from the centre around 11 Euros, this would still be a contender.

The Pineta Palace was really good value for money. I had booked this hotel before reading other reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with everything about the hotel. The breakfast had plenty of variety to choose from. The small bar does lovely club sandwiches(too much for me to eat). Our rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean with plenty of room. The hotel itself was modern and stylish. The location was a long way out of Rome (about half an hour by road on the curtesy bus). We found this service invaluable. For only 4 euros return this was good value and time saving.

We have just come back from spending 4 days in Rome having stayed at the Pineta Palace Hotel, having read the reviews on this website before going.

Having only just returned we consider the previous negative feedback to be very harsh.

We stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor and our balcony had a magnificent view of St.Peters Dome at the Vatican. Having a balcony overlooking Rome truly was a bonus for us.

Furthermore, the Hotel has a very secure car park with cctv video link to security to open and close the elctric gates every time you take your car in and out of the Hotel. Furthermore, with parking in Rome being somewhat difficult the car park is a real bonus.

The morning buffet was ok, and considering the price we paid for our room (which included breakfast) was again a bonus as in many hotels of this standard you would expect to pay extra.

The standard of cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff was excellent, and the coach service provided by the hotel (4 euro cost) leaving about 6/7 times a day? took the away the strain of driving into the centre, and finding the hotel on your return.

The tv was all italian except mtv, and a bbc,cnn,sky chanel would have been desirable.

We could hear shuffling of chairs etc as walls were somehat thin, but it wasnt really a problem.

There are 2 excellent restaurants within walking distance, though they do take a little finding, but staff were ever so helpful to us, especially as we could have eaten in the hotel (which we did not).

I would trully recomend this hotel again.

Only bad point was that it was hard to find. It is in a residential area, however, it was quiet and not noisy as some of the hotels in the centre probably are.

We read previous reviews before we stayed here, and I must say some comments are rather harsh. You basically get what you pay for at Pineta Palace. The rooms were clean, but of cource, nothing luxurious. The breakfast consisted of fresh meats, cheese, pasteries, cereal, breads, jams, and bacon & eggs.
I'm not sure why the other people that stayed there didn't utalize the shuttle bus. There was a Shuttle bus Schedule conveniently located at the front desk. It takes you right into town for 3E a person.
My family and I were part of the Cosmos tour...you hardly spend any time at the hotel...It was just fine for us. People! this is considered a "budjet hotel" It's definatly much nicer than we expected after reading some of the negative reviews.
