Have just come back from a 5 day stay at the Claridge & would say all the negative comments are not justified. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful we arrived just as the bar food was finished but the barman made us a lovely pizza for which we were very gratefull The rooms were rather small but sufficient for the amount of time spent in them Don't know if they have been refurbished lately but the bathrooms were immaculate You can get a bus or tram into the centre for 1 euro not far from the hotel as it is too far to walk for some or a taxi costs 12 euros

We ate at nearby restaurants as recommended by the Hotel and they were better than in the city centre

All in all a very good Hotel that would be twice the price in the city centre

I only stayed for one night after a grueling 24 hours in transit. Staff was pleasant, and the room very clean and modern. I would not call it a "design star", but pleasant, none the less. The bathroom was quite attractive, and functional.
There is a grocery store across the street, and this was quite nice for a weary traveler. I picked up supplies, and then went to bed.
I think this hotel might be an ok location for those with lots of walking energy, or willing to figure out public transportation. There is a metro directly outside. If this hotel was in city center, it would be 2-3 times the cost. So, I think, a good value overall.

The Claridge Hotel is a fairly standard business hotel and doesn't really live up to the cool image that the website tries to give. The room was of a normal -small- size, however the primarily brown deco -bedding and cupboards- and slightly worn off look didn't really help, overall the room was not what you'd expect for the money that you pay. The reception area is not very welcoming, as are the receptionists. The breakfast that was offered was ok, though yet again the atmosphere was just not very nice.

The Claridge is in an interesting location but I would suggest staying in the city center to get more from your vacation. The staff at this four star-rated hotel was less than helpful and the room was two star at most. Air conditioning was not turned on yet (not the hotel's issue - it's a government regulation) and since our room was very warm we had to sleep with the window open. It was extremely noisy.
