The Claridge Hotel is a fairly standard business hotel and doesn't really live up to the cool image that the website tries to give. The room was of a normal -small- size, however the primarily brown deco -bedding and cupboards- and slightly worn off look didn't really help, overall the room was not what you'd expect for the money that you pay. The reception area is not very welcoming, as are the receptionists. The breakfast that was offered was ok, though yet again the atmosphere was just not very nice.

The Claridge is in an interesting location but I would suggest staying in the city center to get more from your vacation. The staff at this four star-rated hotel was less than helpful and the room was two star at most. Air conditioning was not turned on yet (not the hotel's issue - it's a government regulation) and since our room was very warm we had to sleep with the window open. It was extremely noisy.

Dear Client, thank you for posting your review here on TripAdvisor, We are very sorry to read that you have not been satisfied by our services and by the hotel location. We are concern that our hotel did not meet your lodging expectations and we pray you to accept our apologies. We are also sorry about the air conditioning system which was not turned on, as a matter of fact, as you already know, there is a goverment regulation regarding either the air conditioning and the heating systems in order to avoid unnecessary pollution in the city air, therefore times and schedules are provided and need to be strictly followed. We are sure you shall understand that certain regulations go beyond our control. We are also very sorry to acknowledge that our staff has not been helpful and we thank you for point that out. Customer care is one of our primary goals and our clients' comments, either positive or negative, are important for us in order to work hardly on our lacks. We sincerely hope to have the chance to better serve you in the future and we remain,
Your sincerely

This hotel is located away from heavy tourist areas in an upscale residential neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable with a good front desk staff. The rooms were small but functional. Get a balcony if you can.

There are several local restaurants that are good very close by; Rossinni is one. Trust the hotel staff on this one. There is a grocery store accross the street (and down one level).

We stayed here for the last 5 days of a several-week tour of Italy/Sicily, in late October, 2008, & certainly the BEST was saved for LAST! 'Were immediately impressed with the cleanliness of this 4-star rated gem, friendliness of staff, beautiful double room (fabulous balcony for afternoon relaxation,) & delicious complimentary breakfasts. Staff even opened dining room early just for us on our day of departure! Our double room had 2 twin (firm) beds, lovely furnishings, and complete bath with an awesome shower - filled with amenities. Mini-bar, locking room safe, flat-screen t.v. with available internet (charge) were among other notables. As in most European hotels, the elevator was small, but quite dependable!
'Loved the neighborhood which provided several excellent restaurants (all price ranges,) grocery store (closed on Sundays) across the street; Farmacia & Tabacchi stores only a short walk away. Be sure to try a few doors down: Don Vito's Ristorante Siciliano - for a truly authentic gastronomic experience! They'll treat you like royalty! Don't forget Cafe Ingheria at the corner, for some of the best gelato in Roma.
We also purchased fabric (a great deal!) from a lovely little upholstery shop across the street from the hotel. Many attractions were 1/2 - 1 hour walk away from the Claridge. Additionally, both buses and trams passed by the hotel several times an hour. Maps of Roma were available at the desk upon request.
Hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful on retrieving - luggage which was left in our cab upon arrival! Overall, we loved this hotel: probably the best one we stayed in over the course of several weeks in Italy and Sicily.

We stayed in this hotel November for the weekend. The hotel is clean, modern and the staff friendly. The hotel is situated about 40 minutes casual walking from the Spanish Steps and the walk is through the relaxing Villa Borghese Park, passing the Biopark Zoo. Once you get to the Spanish steps most attractions are quite close by. We personally enjoyed the walk every day but some may find it a challenge, in that case public transport is easily accessible from the Hotel. We ate every day at the Taverna Rossini which is 200 metres away and we did not have a bad meal, we thoroughly enjoyed the food there, however we did not find a lot of alternatives within the locality. One problem that did occur in the Hotel was that breakfast is served in the dining area on the ground floor quite close to the reception. On our first morning we were sat down for breakfast when a couple came in and sat down at a table. Within a minute the couple left the dining area without eating and walked out. After a short while it was noticed that a handbag had been stolen from another guest on the table adjacent to where this couple had sat, so be aware at all times. This however could happen anywhere but all in all i would recommend staying here. The Biopark is well worth visiting and is a 10 minute walk away.
