My husband and I somewhat frequent travelers and do a lot of research before choosing hotels. Unfortunately, our research was wrong for the Hotel Condotti. The location is good, right near the Spanish Steps, and the staff is reasonably nice and speaks English. However, I specifically booked the main Hotel and not the apartments because of the different reviews and locations. Apparently that did not matter because when we checked in we were sent to their apartments (Antico 55 I believe), which is literally a few rooms in an apartment building way too close to the Spanish Steps and right above a very loud cafe (which was more like a bar than an Italian cafe). To make matters worse, they had turned the heat on and would not turn it off so when it was over 70 degrees outside the heat made the room unbearably hot. Overall, it was not horrible but there are much better places to stay in Rome for the money.
