My husband and I somewhat frequent travelers and do a lot of research before choosing hotels. Unfortunately, our research was wrong for the Hotel Condotti. The location is good, right near the Spanish Steps, and the staff is reasonably nice and speaks English. However, I specifically booked the main Hotel and not the apartments because of the different reviews and locations. Apparently that did not matter because when we checked in we were sent to their apartments (Antico 55 I believe), which is literally a few rooms in an apartment building way too close to the Spanish Steps and right above a very loud cafe (which was more like a bar than an Italian cafe). To make matters worse, they had turned the heat on and would not turn it off so when it was over 70 degrees outside the heat made the room unbearably hot. Overall, it was not horrible but there are much better places to stay in Rome for the money.

Clean, cosy, in the heart of Rome. We all were glad with our choice.

My wife and I started our dream vacation in Rome. Unfortunately, we chose the Hotel Condotti. We specifically requested a top floor room with a balcony because it was recommended. It was, as expected for Rome in August, unbearably hot. The problem, of course, is that, while that is expected for the city, we reasonably expected that the temperature in our room would be comfortable. As American's we recognized that our standards for air conditioned bliss were likely a bit more strenuous than the Italians, but the AC simply didn't work at all. We requested a room change and were accommodated, but it came with an attitude. The room we received was similarly hot, but rather than ask for another room we toughed it out. It was one miserably hot night. The next day, the clerk tried to charge us for the much larger and nicer original room. Now on the good side, if you were to choose this hotel during a cooler time you might like it much better as the street-side room with the balcony was nicely outfitted and the location can't be beat near the Spanish Steps. Still, I have to think you can do better in August than a hotel with - seemingly - no working AC units.

I travel to Italy every year and sometimes twice per year. For the last 15 years I have to Rome and always stayed in this hotel, although many other options are available. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The location is superior . It is located at the Spanish Steps, in the center os the best shoping are of Rome. There are many great restaurants just around the corner and the best one is next door to the hotel i.e. Restaurante 34. Many tourist attraction are within 20 min walking.
NIce breakfast is served daily by a very friendly staff. The rooms are not large, but very clean and comfortable. You would enjoy it.

The location by the spanish steps is central to many sights. We were a short walk from the Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon and Galleria Borghese. There are many great restaurants close by. We had lovely rooms. They were small, but were comfortable. Nice bathrooms. The staff was very friendly. Our check-in was smooth. Fabio helped us get an airport transfer. We were close enough to lovely cafes, that we could enjoy an evening stroll or snack while our kids relaxed in the room. When we return to Rome, we will book at Condotti Hotel again.
