“Location, Location, Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

The Eliseo Hotel is located in the North West section of tourist Rome. Across from the Borghese Gardens, 5 mins from the Spanish steps and 10 mins from the Trevi fountain, you cannot get better when it comes to location. The rooms are fine - really you don't spend much time there - but could use renovation. I had a room on the 4th fl with old carpeting and peeling wallpaper. My friend had a room on the 2nd fl with hardwood floors and a flat screen TV. So it seems maybe they are 1/2 way finished with the renovation? Breakfast is ok - larger than the typical Italian fare of coffee and a pastry, but nothing great. I ended up eating fruit and yogurt and popping around the corner for a good Italian coffee. The front desk staff is very helpful and will arrange anything you need. With room rates as high as they are in Rome, I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room with hard wood floors.

Don't be tempted by the price or location - NO REAL MONEY TO VALUE
Tiny rooms, 2 single beds joined as 1 queen,no real A/C and the location is good but you still have to walk up and down the Spanish stairs all the time (you can use the metro elevator as well) but still is a tilted walk to the hotel.

I wouldn't rate this hotel as 4 stars hotel ever - you get a key, not a key card, but an actual key which is not easy to get around with and if you forget it in your room or wherever that is a big deal!

BUT THE WORST are the beds: if you are a couple and you sleep in the same bed - this is not your hotel. They will give you 2 single beds that are pushed together to have 1 queen bed and this WILL hurt your back - cause you will be sunk between the gap of the beds all the time - not fun at all !!!

You have been warned !

The hotel is located near via Veneto. If you travel from the airport you can take the direct bus for 5€ to Termini, there the A Metro to Barberini Station (just 2 stops) and walk 10 minutes by Via Veneto to the end of the street.
The rooms are fair in size, we recieved uncorfortable & noisy beds, no bathtub and not a reliable wi-fi.
Breakfast is average-poor, the waiters didn't replace food that was finished from "early eaters" from the buffet for the guests that came to breakfast later on (for example: no eggs for the guests that came the last half hour that breakfast was served)
I didn't expect the luxury of a 5 star hotel but the difference is very big, I spent time in similar hotels in Rome in the past, they were far better than this one.
I won't come back to this hotel.

We stayed at Eliseo by reccomendations of a trip agent. Will not be back or reccomend it to anybody.
The hotel is outdated, old, the rooms are VERY small and the bathroom impossible to use due to a small size. Beds are suitable only for people under 1,6m.
During 6 days, my happiest one was when I could take a decent shower in the NEXT hotel.
Can not say it is a dirty place, but the old red carpet that covers the whole hotel was certaily placed just after Nero put fire in Rome.
Air conditioning in the room works poorly, internet access is a joke - the wireless sign keeps coming in and out all the time, even at late nights or early mornings.
The staff is mixed - some attentious some rude.
Breakfeast is average only.
There is one good thing, that do not overcome the bads: the breakfeast place in the top, floor has a very nice view.
The worst thing I found was how can they advertise them as a four star hotel, when it is far from even a two one.
Be carefull and look for a better place. They exist.

Fabtastic location with friendly staff. Breakfast was nice but didn't offer any gluten free options. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome
