I selected this hotel for it's location. It is a perfect location. Once we arrived I tried to cancel my reservations. We are not picky travelers but this was to much. The window air conditioners didn't work and we had two fans, one that worked. While my wife and I were trying to stay cool with the fan in the middle of a very hot day a fellow from the office can in without knocking and tried to take the one fan that worked. I have to grab the fan to keep it. He said I already had a fan. I told him the air conditioning didn't work and the other fan didn't.

Also the place was dirty, run down. Rome is such a beautiful place and it's hard to imagine that a place could cause such a bring down.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Rome towards the end of March for 2 nights. The location of the hotel is amazing, we walked from the train station to the hotel without trouble; it was just down the road from the spanish steps and a 2 min walk from the trevi fountain.
Our room was small with a window that only looked out onto the back entrance to more buildithe furnature was basic but the airconditiong was very good. We had a small shower room that you couldnt really move in if the door was shut and my boyfriend had to crouch under the water heater above the shower - but you don't need any thing more from a room in Rome - just somewhere to sleep and this hotel did the job.
The staff were friendly and helpful and we could leave our luggage in a secure room as we had a late flight. However, there was no safety deposit box in the room - luckily enough we didnt have any problems with safety.
The breakfast was as expected with cakes and pasteries but it was fresh and very nice.

I would recommend this hotel to couples (can't judge for families as we only has a double room) but you cannot avoid the steps so not for young children or older people.

Me and my husband went to Rome in September and stayed at the hotel for two days. This is a quiet and clean hotel. We walked in off the street to make our reservation. The staff was friendly and helpul. Our room overlooked a small courtyard. Our only complaint was that the bathtub was too small and the bedspread was a bit old looking (but it was clean). It is very convenient to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Overall we were pleased.

  • Liked — close to major historical sights
  • Disliked — very small bathtub

The lacation is excellent, very close to Spanish steps, piazza Popolo, trevi fountain and the main shopping streets as via del Corso, via Condotti. The room was small but comfortable, not luxurus but clean, they made the bed everyday and cleaned the sheets. Very quiet at night, good modern aircon. The staff very friendly. Breaksfast included, was simple but fresh and nice. Paid 150 euro/night/double room, expensive, but everything is in Rome.

I found a nice restaurant where the locals eat, good food and reasonable prices, excellent service, "Il Galeone" Piazza S. Cosimato 27, Trestevere, on the other side of Tiber River. On via del Tritone take bus 62, 63 or 492, get off in Largo Argentina and take tram 8, then after crossing the bridge, get off at a big white building from a Ministry. You can not miss it. You will enjoy the (short) ride in the bus and tram to see the city. Avoid eating or drinking at the restaurants around the St. Peter's basilica, very expensive and very bad quality, not even fresh food.

Rome is a wonderful city, full of history, culture and art. We fell in love with the city. Also shopping for shoes and clothes was cheaper and nicer than many other european cities.

This is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Ok - Where do I start. The reception staff are horrible. Absolutely the most unfriendly people ever - rude, unhelpful, arrogant --- DO NOT STAY HERE ! The room was below average -- to get there (With our heavy suitcases) we had to go to the first floor to get the lift ! The bedroom was small but clean. The bathroom was about 100 years old and dirty. The shower (If I could call it that) was a disgrace - I had to crouch down as they installed a boiler right there under where the shower sits -- Crazy stuff. I meant to take photos to put them on her but I didn't get the chance as I was there for a wedding. On that point -- Most of the wedding party were staying next door in Hotel Cecil which appeared to ber very nice. I was best man and the groom staying next door tried to drop something up to my room but was refused -- they wanted to see a passport ! to drop something up to the room. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Off the bathroom was a balcony which was boareded up so we had a tiny old battered window looking onto a dirty alley.

The reception area looks great but don't be fooled.

I have never stayed in hostels in Oz or anything like that so maybe I'm spoiled but let me assure you -- I wouldn't stay here ever again. This is the first review I have placed on this or any site and I registered with Trip advisor to warn people.

I hope this has helped and hope that you won't book this hotel. We paid €600 for 4 nights.

  • Liked — The location wasn't bad but get a different hotel in the same area !
  • Disliked — Staff. Awful. Horrible. Unfriendly. Rude.
