I stayed here for a little less than a week. Mine and my friends computer were both stolen from our rooms while we where out. The hotel said their insurance would cover and as soon as I got home I emailed the address they gave me. Almost a month has passed and I have yet to heard back from them.

To top it off, the last night I was there our key didn't work (this had happened to a number of friend's rooms also). When I arrived at the front desk they handed me a new key without asking for ID or any proof that this was my room number. This is crazy! since a number of rooms were just broken into!

The Ritz left me with mixed feelings. When I checked in I was given a room in the Regent Hotel, which is next door and run by the same company. The room was not pleasant. Very especially, it had a shoddy window frame that didn't shut well and let in all the noise from the street below. After complaining I was given a better and cosier room in the Ritz itself. The hotel as a whole needs an "aggiornamento", and so does some of the staff. Although the Ritz is not in the centre you can easily reach Piazalle Flaminio and the Piaza del Populo by train (5 minutes) as there is a station (Euclide) 2 minutes from the hotel. In the neighborhood there is two or three good coffe shops and restaurants. Summing up: I believe that, with some work, you can find better in Rome for a similar fare.

I am a solo traveler and spent two nights at the Ritz as part of a tour group.

The room was more like a cell! The bed was so close to the wardrobe that the latter could not really be used. The brocade wallpaper and drapes were overpowering and added to the gloom of the poor lighting.
There was NO additional furniture (e.g. table and chair) and the only place where I could write some notes was on the toilet.

The air conditioning plant was just outside my window and it roared on all night!

The location is NOT central and there is not much in the way of restaurants nearby (although the pasta place just down the road was good)

I am sure you can do better. I would not recommend this hotel and would not use it again.

My wife and I stayed here on August 30 for one night prior to a cruise. The hotel was selected as part of the cruise booking so we did not know much about the hotel or location until we arrived. The hotel seems to be located in an urban residential area. Our third floor, street side room included a sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. The tub/shower had the half-glass arrangement that others have mentioned and not a full shower curtain.

The staff was professional and helpful to us non-italian speaking guests. The buffet breakfast was quite complete - a wide selection of hot and cold foods. The coffee was fine.

English speaking TV channels were limited to CNN international and BBC international. Wireless computer access was allegedly available but I thought it to be too expensive to try out.

We went out the hotel front door to the left, turned left at the corner, and went a block to the Euclide subway station. For one euro each and two subway stops, we popped out at the Flaminio subway station which is nearby the Piazza del Popolo, a touristy type area with plenty to see. (The subway ride was borderline unbearably hot.)

We found a nearby grocery store with assistance from the front desk . We bought wine, cheese, bread, and meat for a meal instead of forging out someplace and spending a lot of money on dinner.

You can look at Google (satellite view) to get an idea of what is around all these spots).

Bottom line, the hotel and location were a new experience for us and perfectly satisfactory.
