My wife and I stayed here on August 30 for one night prior to a cruise. The hotel was selected as part of the cruise booking so we did not know much about the hotel or location until we arrived. The hotel seems to be located in an urban residential area. Our third floor, street side room included a sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. The tub/shower had the half-glass arrangement that others have mentioned and not a full shower curtain.

The staff was professional and helpful to us non-italian speaking guests. The buffet breakfast was quite complete - a wide selection of hot and cold foods. The coffee was fine.

English speaking TV channels were limited to CNN international and BBC international. Wireless computer access was allegedly available but I thought it to be too expensive to try out.

We went out the hotel front door to the left, turned left at the corner, and went a block to the Euclide subway station. For one euro each and two subway stops, we popped out at the Flaminio subway station which is nearby the Piazza del Popolo, a touristy type area with plenty to see. (The subway ride was borderline unbearably hot.)

We found a nearby grocery store with assistance from the front desk . We bought wine, cheese, bread, and meat for a meal instead of forging out someplace and spending a lot of money on dinner.

You can look at Google (satellite view) to get an idea of what is around all these spots).

Bottom line, the hotel and location were a new experience for us and perfectly satisfactory.

The staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and look like they hate their lives. Our bed-spread had a cigarette butt on it and the faulty shower went from hot to cold. It's a far distance from the centre and we had to get taxis when the train stopped. When we asked could if we extend our stay, they couldn't have given a toss either way and treated us like we were a terrible burden to their already miserable existances. When they said we couldn't stay, we didn't mind and paid extra to get out of there into a more expensive place.
On the positive side, the breakfast was varied and sufficient, even if the coffee and juice was machine operated.
It will dampen your stay at Rome if you stay here. It did ours.

We spent four nights in this hotel as part of a Riveria trip.

Our room was lovely, spacious, clean and a large bathroom.

Breakfasts were poor, how can Italians serve up grey coffee? And tinned fruit in a country bursting with fresh was an insult.

Some staff were really good and others, particularly the male manager, couldn't raise a smile.

Certainly not 'centrally located' as promised by Riveria, few eating places close by, so wouldn't recommend it.

I normally try to book hotel with a budget near 150€ and four stars. And my review is centred with the PRICE vs QUALITY of service.

Web of reservation: BOOKING.com
Stay: 2 working days
My Check In: 14:00
My Check out: 9:00

Staff: 1-10 = 7
> friendy staff and all speak english

Services: 1-10 = 5
>only 5 because don`t have wifi internet

Clean: 1-10 = 8
>nice room services

Comfort: 1-10 = 7
>Is a old style hotel, don`t is old hotel

Value for money: 1-10 = 7.5
>the price of the hotel is very accepted, the problem is that you have to pay near 50€ from the Airport of FIUMICINO, and 20-25€ to the center of Rome.

(+) The hotel and the staff.
(-) Don`t is in the centre of Rome.

Resume: For this price and services, I going back, if I don`t have meeting in the centre of Rome.

After reading some of the reviews about the Grand Ritz, I was worried. We took a large group of people to Europe and this was one of our stops. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and appeared to have recently been remodeled. One of our group members had a very large room with a wrap around balcony where they could look over the city. Our room had a small sitting room. Our bathroom was clean although the shower leaked due to a small gap in a gasket.
The staff was friendly and helpful, answering all of our questions and handling our large group as quickly as possible.
I would definitely stay here again.
