“Charming, welcoming hotel in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We stayed in the hotel for three nights, and can't think of one bad word to write about it. The best thing this charming hotel offers is the friendliest, and most helpful team- starting with Fabio in the mornings and Febrizio in the afternoons. Both will go the extra mile to make sure you are a happy customer. The buffet offers a great selection of Italian style breakfast with an egg of your choice.
The location is very central and a walking distance from the major sightseeing.
When we are next in Rome we sure know where to go back to.

Room Tip: ask for top floor for extra quiet

From the moment I booked my trip I felt like I was going to visit family. Friendly emails with replies to all my questions. Upon arrival - friendly faces and service. We booked 2 rooms and stayed in the Annex building which was just like renting an apartment but with maid service.
The rooms were gorgeous. Very old world feel even down to the key attached to a beautiful tassel. Marble huge bathrooms with great water pressure, soft plush towels and lights in the bathtub. The furniture was antique wood finished. There were armoires for the clothes. Room service came twice a day. The beds were very comfortable. Mini fridge in room and safe. Everything is the room was updated and so clean. Windows in room and bathroom opened to get fresh air. The included daily breakfast buffet was amazing. We ordered eggs cooked anyway we liked and then there was a delightful buffet which included fresh breads, cheeses, assorted salumeria, yogurt, cereal, sweets, jams, dried fruits, olives, peppers and I can keep going.
The locations was ideal. Even though we rented a car we did a lot of walking since we were close to everything. We walked to the Coliseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain. The hotel is located near a ton of shopping and restaurants. I could not have picked a better place.
We Love to travel during the holidays and Hotel Barocco was my home away from home. The Stellar service and the cleanliness of hotel made my trip unforgettable. Would love to return again.

Room Tip: Annex rooms we booked were very quiet and spacious. I cannot tell you what the hotel rooms were lik...

The hotel was very well localized, very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was somewhat small, but with a decent size, specially for European standards. The bathroom was very good, with a good shower. The breakfast was excellent. I would stay there again.

Was very pleasantly surprised by Hotel Barocco, the location is fantastic and all of the main sights around Rome are accessible on foot. We spent 3 nights here and were out walking around all day each day.

Hotel staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants nearby. Room was small but very comfortable, big windows and a little balcony even on such a well priced room was a huge bonus, we left the windows open most nice to get nice fresh air through the room. The shower is awesome, was quite surprised to see that, lots of space for 2 in there :)

Enjoyed the breakfast as well, nice selection of fresh bread, cold cuts, cheese as well as the usual breakfast items.

I had booked this hotel with referring reviews here.
We stayed at a classic double room for 2 nights.
The room is tiny as same as common rooms in Rome, however for just sleeping it was enough space.
House-keeping was working properly.
All staffs' attitude was very welcoming and trying to provide us comfort .

I can mention here some remarkable points.
One is the location, just 2 mins-walk from a metro station.
The second is nice quality of breakfast. (Melting cheese in omelettes, Yummy!)
Through direct web reservation, we applied optional airport transfer.
It was very professional service and cheaper than airport taxi and bus fee for two person.

This hotel ensures pleasant stay at Roma, especially for peoples who want to enjoy the town.

i'd highly recommend this hotel. the service was universally nice and helpful, the rooms were a nice size with a safe and free wifi, all common areas and guest rooms were super clean, and the breakfast (included in the room rate) was fresh and delicious. this hotel is an excellent value for the money and we had a very pleasant stay.

I highly recommend this small, wonderful hotel. It is kept spotlessly clean, and the very generous breakfast buffet that comes gratis with the room rate is a huge plus. The hotel is in a perfect location, across the street from the Metro, and within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori and other sightseeing locales. The bathrooms are really big and clean with fabulous showers! The best recommendation I can give is related to how very helpful and wonderful all the staff were - so eager to help us. The concierge, desk, and restaurant staff were all amazing. There is a personal touch to this hotel -- do not expect a big lobby with lots of people lounging around -- this is an intimate, quiet, refuge in the middle of a mad, busy city.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for contribution, but above all for the way you conclude your review which made me feel very proud for the way I operate this hotel.

But there is also another reason for which I particularly appreciated your review. Just a few days ago we hosted some habitual guests of a famous Rome 5 star hotel. Obviously, on this occasion they had made a very different choice. Going from a large hotel with a huge lobby, internal restaurant, large and numerous common areas to a boutique hotel requires that a guest is aware of the choice they are making. As usual, we tried our best to satisfy these guests and to offer them the best possible service, but upon departure when asked whether they had enjoyed their stay, they thanked us for the service and numerous little touches, however, they felt the hotel lobby and common areas did not correspond to their expectations.

I was not at the hotel at the time, but the resident manager immediately contacted me by telephone to relay how disappointed he had been with this comment after all the effort which had been placed into welcoming these guests. The words you used in your review sum up very well the message which I tried to relay to him: "there is a personal touch to this hotel -- do not expect a big lobby with lots of people lounging around -- this is an intimate, quiet, refuge in the middle of a mad, busy city".

So you can understand why I am happy to reply to your review. In just a few words you were able to perfectly describe the expectations which a guest should have when choosing the Hotel Barocco in Rome.

Kind regards,

Franco Caruso
