“Very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We recently stayed at the Hotel Caprice for 3 days and enjoyed our stay very much. Hotel is in a great location (notwithstanding the strip club next door). Our room was small, but OK. Our compainions had an even smaller room and their air conditioning did not work. The hotel is very quiet and you can't hear the street noise unless you have your windows open. It was clean and well maintained in the public spaces. My major complaint was the breakfast room: WAY too small for the number of guests, although the food was good. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. We are in Rome frequently and, although we had never been there before, would certainly go back again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I stayed 5 nights at Hotel Caprice in June. The rooms are quiet, nicely furnished and clean, although a little small. There isn't much storage space, but enough for a week's stay, though I would have liked a couple more coathangers. the lift is very small and slow so I often had to use the (tight) staircase.

Breakfast was in a very small basement room with rather tightly packed tables. The breakfast itself was a reasonable Italian breakfast. It was a little limited and repetitive (there's fruit, but always peaches and prunes; jam is always peach or cherry) but certainly adequate.

As a single female traveller I was a little concerned by the lap-dancing club right next door, but this was no problem at all, either in terms of noise or hassle (in fact another male guest commented he had problems because the staff at the club kept trying to entice him in, whereas of course they left me alone).

Plus points are the location, service, cleanliness, style, breakfast and working air conditioning. There is only one downside, and that's the size of the room (a tad on the small side). Having said that, and having been to Rome before, room size can be very variable even in the same hotel, and it's not like we were living there. Would we go again? Yes, without hesitation.

Can't believe a reviewer mentioned the lack of English language TV in a foreign country. I suggest they take advantage of the free computer/internet in the lobby or the free WiFi.

Before going to Siena we spent 2 nights at Hotel Caprice. It is right in the city and you can walk to so many sights. Our room was recently renovated and was very modern. The rooms however are much smaller than anything in the States. The breakfast is okay, not a lot of variety. The staff are very nice. If I were only going to stay for 1or 2nights I would stay again but there is not enough room for clothes for longer than that

Clean and convenient, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are tiny but workable, fairly quiet on the back side of the hotel. And if the cabbies don't know where the hotel or Via Liguria are, you can always just say "Cicacica Boom", which is the lap dance place next door. The cabbies ALL know where that is. :)

Room Tip: Back rooms are quieter - front rooms get street traffic noises.

This was mine and my husband's first trip to Rome. I'm very well-travelled being a travel agent but my husband is not. I wanted a place that was very clean, modern, quiet, and in a good location. With the Caprice Hotel we found all this. It is walking distance (15 mins) to the areas of Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps but still away from the hustle of this very busy city. We upgraded to a superior room and it was worth it because rooms are small in Europe and this gave us some more room to spread out. We also managed to get a room with a huge balcony on the 5th floor with a cool view. Breakfast was ample and the ladies in the breakfast room work so hard. The room darkening blinds kept us sleeping until 1pm the day after our late night arrival into Rome. Incredibly quiet. Would definitely go back. Thanks for making our stay in Rome so positive!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the superior room for a little more square footage and request a room with a balcony.
