“Good hotel, amazing breakfast view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012 via mobile

We travelled as a group of 6 and we were all really pleased with our stay. The main highlight was the breakfast. It was on the top of the hotel and we could see all across Rome.
Our rooms were pretty dated but the shower was good and beds were comfy so can't really moan. My adapter did get stuck in the plug socket though and was a bit dangerous but the maintenance man sorted it. We could hear conversations going on from the room next door, very clearly, this would have been annoying if they weren't our family :)
Quite a walk to most things but not so bad if you are happy to explore which we were. Overall a good stay.

Our first view of Rome was from the beautiful roof top terrance! The hotel room is small (not sure if all others are), but clean. I wont' say the staff was 'friendly', they did their job and answered our questions, did not go out of their way to make us feel 'at home'. Breakfast was basic, nothing exciting about it. I wouldn't go back to this hotel if I was in Rome again, would select something closer to the Metro. Other plus about this hotel, it was right across the street from this great gelato place!

The hotel was a 10min walk from the Termini train station. A taxi tried to charge 30euro. Far cheaper to walk. The hotel room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The shower had great pressure to blast away a days worth of sticky sight seeing. Rome doesn't feel as big as you expect when you get there. The hotel was reasonanly located for most of the major sights. The continental breakfast buffet had a good range of stuff to choose from. Staff were friendly.

This hotel was dark, and old. The rugs were old & the room needed to be updated. The staff at the front desk was not friendly or courteous. The only good thing about this hotel was at the top of the hotel was a restaurant/bar with Salvatore running it. The menu was very limited but Salvatore made up for it with his pleasant charm.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during the heatwave. The hotel is clean, nice decorated room with air conditioning which was needed as it was so hot outside. The staff were friendly and the views from the terrace was beautiful, we did have a drink at night on the terrace - lovely but found the music a bit repetative.
Rome has a lot to offer but you need your walking shoes on! Restaurants were a bit on the expensive side.

We stayed here for five nights during the recent heatwave. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and has everything you would require for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast on roof garden perfect although after day1 sought the coolness of inside area.We used the bus service to get around which can be accessed close to the hotel and it worked very well for us although it was hot and overcrowded. We would recommend this hotel and would go back when in Rome

We had a wonderful stay at the Marcella Royal! Allesandro was especially helpful in suggesting restaurants and guided us during our stay. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and had a spectacular view of the city.
