The Sistina is a terrific spot to venture forth to explore most of Rome. We had a triple room which was very spacious for our 18-year old daughter, husband, and myself although the shower was small. My husband, however, had no problem fitting in and he's 6'5" and 235 lbs. The beds were very comfortable. The first night we discovered that our daughter's bed was missing a spring in the middle and, after letting the staff know about it in the morning, it had been replaced by the time we returned in the afternoon. The elevator is also helpful for lots of luggage. Our room was immaculately clean. The staff were also extremely helpful. Unfortunately my purse had been stolen in Venice and they allowed us to use their phones as well as had the number for the general Visa (credit card) office which consolidated the number of calls I had to make. On a much more important note, when the computer broke down as my daughter was emailing, they had it back up and running by evening time! We also were able to use our calling cards for free on the hotel phone. We faced the busy Via Sistina but with the double windows as well as the metal doors closed, we never heard a thing. We didn't need air conditioning but imagine during the summer they have it which would allow one to keep the windows closed. Otherwise it would have been very noisy. There are signs of aging and a few worn spots in some of the common areas but for the price, service and location, I think its a terrific value.
