The location of this place is UNREAL! Sistina is a boutique hotel just down the road from the Spanish Steps and Via Cavour. A great walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The room was very nice, not quite as glamorous as the internet pic (are they ever?), bed linen and towels were of high quality and very clean.

The only prob we had was that the airconditioner was faulty and there was about a metre square of soaked carpet underneath it, but when we complained, the manager gave us a substantial room discount, so we really didn't mind so much!

One of the best memories we have of Rome was a meal of pizza, birra and vino (from just around the corner in Via Capo Lie Case) - eaten on the tiny rooftop of Hotel Sistina while watching the sun go down over Rome.

Nice hotel with pleasant room, good location for visiting sights.
5 minutes walk to Spanish Steps.
15 minutes to Trevi, walking distance to other sights up to 40 minutes to Vatican.

Lovely city to walk round.

Breakfast was good, with a varied selection always topped up.
Hotel offered to collect us and take us back to Airport, which we would have taken if we weren't travelling by train.

Rooms were comfortable, good air conditioning. Staff always friendly and smiling.

Would definately revisit to see the other sights!!!

The hotel is well situated, it is easy to walk to all the main Rome's historical monuments. The quality of the hotel does not respond to four stars standard at all. Rooms are very small, bed in our double room was very small, the shower was not working properly, air conditioning was very noisy, we could hear everything what was in neigbouring rooms happening. We paid EUR 160 per room per night. For two thirds of this prize it would be a good deal!

We recently (end of may 2004) stayed at the Sistina. The first room I was offered was rather a cave than a room. After complaining at the desk I got a reasonable but also not four-star-worth room (very small room and bed, outworn mattress). The next three days we had a double room, which was also on a basic three-star level.

We can confirm that the desk is friendly on an Italian basis. However, the management is not able to cope with matters of course (water was coming from the ceiling, there was a problem in the room above us and they were not able to clean our bathroom, which was floated). However, we got a deduction for the last night.

The location is good, shopping area and Spanish Steps are very close. In the rooms you almost hear no traffic (which is rather seldom in Rome), but due to thin walls you have the plaesure to hear your neighbour fart.
