We stayed here on a portion of our honeymoon. Our room was pretty spacious and furnished nicely. Our room/suite overlooked the street with a double balcony. Yes you could hear the street noise with the doors opened, but this street is probably why you chose to stay at the hotel. Overall, it's a great location, especially if you arrive by train. Keep in mind that most hotels in europe are very different from those in the united states, meaning a four or five star european hotel will differ from what one would expect in the states. Of course, if you're that concerned with how plush the hotel room is, you're not focusing on the real reason of why you're there. You do not necessarily need to use public transportation. Walk everywhere if you're able. During your travels, find that wonderful, hole in the wall tratoria to have lunch in. It's not only the history that makes Rome great...the Romans and the neighborhoods in between the sights contribute just as much.

I would never pay out of my own pocket for this hotel. Very mixed impressions: a fairly classy lobby but a shabby reception area, room just about good size, plush carpet but worn out furniture. Soundproofing poor, street noise fairly strong. But a very spacious and comfortable bathroom. Service partly useless (I was told there was no possibility of internet connection in the room, later discovered they had a cable hidden behind TV and, yes, it was possible to get a paid connection), but on other occasions people were very attentive - especially the breakfast staff was great.
Then again: location is GREAT, and, hey, it's Rome, so unless it's really bad you tend to forget the smaller annoyances quickly, all that remains are the impressions of the city and the food.

It was a little old and a little noisy, but we had a room that faced the street and it is Rome. It was a really big room compared to other hotel rooms. It was a little old but we knew that going in. The hotel staff was great. I would recommend this location. Very short walk to the subway or bus and a 20-30 min walk to anywhere.

my nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!!! during the day of my 37th birthday somebody took all the money that was in the room's safebox!!!!! and left my netbook fortunately.....it was certainely an inside job as the safe was locked with the some code after the robbery..... worse of all that the hotel did nothing for us and as I heard it was not the first time, the police only bothered to write my statement .... please beware or you will end up robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
