Was recommended this hotel by someone who had already stayed there.
Without doubt, the location is excellent, very quiet and safe and in a great location for sightseeing.
For the price paid, my main problems with this hotel were as follows:
* Reception staff were not particularly helpful, friendly or welcoming on arrival. Subsequent to this, when we asked for assistance in confirming some tour details we were initially flatly refused. The staff member even refused to look the number up for us, so we could call for ourselves. (Mind you, after this we left to go to an internet cafe to look up the number ourselves, which we found easily, once we got back the staff member had gone ahead and contacted the tour company anyway, but this was frustrating as we'd just spent money at an internet cafe to do it ourselves!).
* After a 5 week trip in Europe, this was the most uncomfortable bed.
* Our particular room, was in a location with a lot of people passing in the corridor etc. It was also located right nearby the housekeepers trolley and the housekeepers had a good 30 min chat right outside our door in the morning.
* Breakfast with pretty poor, staff were rude and the coffee was awful.

As we had to return to Rome a few days after our initial stay, we decided to choose another hotel as we were so unhappy with the Accademia.

Stayed there in October. Great hotel.
Very clean, nice and new furniture, very good breakfast. Of coures excellent location-you don't need any bus!!
Best hotel we stayed in Italy. If yoy are not used to Hilton standards (it's not fancy ), you will enjoy it a lot.
Our room was quite big, so I guess there are different types of rooms.
The staff is friendly and nice.

Stayed at this hotel October 2007 and were aware it was undergoing major refurbishment. We were assigned to a refurbished 'executive room'. These rooms are small beyond belief, even for a European city. We could have lived with the size. as we have done many times over at other hotels, were it not for the incredible heat in the room.

We advised reception about the temperature in the room and they sent a technician to look at the air conditioning unit and he reported that it was not working and he could not get it to work. At the same time there are notices all over the hotel advising not to open windows for security reasons, presumably because there was scaffolding outside and this is obviously a security risk. So we virtually cooked in this little box. We had the most uncomfortable stay ever.

On our return we emailed the booking agent who contacted the hotel and eventually after several weeks we were advised that the hotel's air conditioning is switched off in September as it is not needed and that is why it was not working!?!?

I don't know if this is a true fact but if it is it's ludicrous and if so why didn't they tell us while we were staying there. If it isn't true then what an awful lie to make to customers.

We have since been offered a free night's stay at the hotel - big deal!

I would say think very hard about your hotel choice, it may be in a convenient position but I think they think because of this they can get away with poor customer service. I would much rather sleep in comfort. Vote with your feet.

nice hotel,jus 1 minute on foot from fontana di trevi.great breakfast buffet,clean but small rooms.the stuff wasn't as friendly as they should be.i think now the price is little high for all that is offer
