We booked this hotel through price line. We got a decent value. The service was spotty. The doorman at our arrival could not have been more helpful (we drove in from Tuscany). The first concierge was helpful, but there were other concierges that were downright crabby and not helpful. We did tip them several times for their services, but it didn't seem to matter. Again, some were very nice and helpful and others not. It's kind of a management issue they should be aware of. The hotel is in a superior location at the top of the Spanish steps (although at times, like the end of the day, I wish it were at the BOTTOM of the 132 steps! :) ). Our rooms were comfortable, but not large. The upkeep of the hotel ws a little below our standards (the paint was peeling in our bathroom, the shower head/handle didn't match the "holder" and it actually fell off and bopped me in the head (and they are heavy!). The soap was about the smallest bar soap I've seen in a hotel just an example of kind of scant ammenities). Somebody in the elevator actually was complaining to his wife that the ammenities were really poor). No breakfast included and the restaurant we found to be expensive even by hotel standards. I was neutral on the hotel until the doorman yelled at our teenage daughter about moving our car while we were checking out. He was downright rude. So I'd suggest looking elswhere. There was enough wrong here that you could probably find a better value elswhere.
