Everything about this hotel is top notch. Upon arrival we received a room on the 6th floor which was a little small bit very pretty. This floor is the one you want to be on. There is an amazing terrace overlooking rome that you can have some drinks and just look at the view! My husband enjpoyed the terrace all alone in the monings doing some early morning work on his laptop which he loved. The location is amazing right by the spanish steps cant get any better. The hotel staff was fantastic, always recommended a great restaurant and always ready to help.

Stayed here a few weeks ago, expecting a great deal as it's a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately it totally failed to live up to the hype. Our room (standard) was fairly small, and was no nicer than say a Travel Inn/Travel Lodge etc in the UK. The only 'wow' factor was a (VERY) small balcony out of the front where you could look out on the (VERY) busy street with a reasonable view of the Spanish Steps further along. There were no tea or coffee facilities or anything. We couldn't afford to enjoy the rooftop terrace (approx 20 Euros for a cocktail), nor the breakfast (A frankly outrageous 7 Euros for cornflakes!). The hotel itself was clean, and reasonably nice, and some of the staff were very helpful, while others were fairly unfriendly. In summary, the hotel is in a great location but if, like us, you are travelling on a budget and got a room through discounts/promotions etc, it is a real waste of time as the only luxuries (bar terrace/biggest rooms/meals) that the hotel provides come at a heavy price.

Just stayed at de la Ville from May 28 -June 2nd. We paid about $250.00/night for the hotel room (employee f&f discount applied). This hotel claims to be a five star unfortunately it has fallen short of being one. The location is ok being AT THE TOP of the spanish steps. Very ideal if you like to climb about 230 steps after dinner every night. The lobby and reception area is acceptable. It resembles more like a 3 star small sheraton lobby. The most disappointing aspect are the rooms itself. We stayed in a double room. The queen bed was extremely small. There were cracks on the walls. The room itself was tiny. We felt like we were sleeping in side a small cell. The bathroom was decent size but again we noticed a lot of wear and tear on the walls.I would have been extremely disappointed if we had to pay more than 400/night for this type of room.Concierge was nice and helpful

Another visit to the de la Ville in Rome, another wonderful couple of weeks in the bosom of family. A nice property, not spectacular, but the best service in many a year. That they are professional and helpful is to be expected. That they embrace their guests as family is unexpected and welcome. Having traveled throughout my lifetime, I have never had the experience of feeling cared for/looked after the way I feel when staying at the de la Ville in Rome. I find excuses to go back.
