The Hotel was the best part of our trip to Italy. Great staff,, room and service. The hotel proved a beautiful bottle of wine and a fruit tray that was oustanding. The breakfast was the highlight with everything one could wish for from eggs to fine Italian meats and much, much more. Worth every dollar.

I stayed at Intercontinental de la Ville with my mom for 3-nights in Rome. This was a fabulous place. From the moment we stepped out of our car. We were immediately welcomed and assisted with our luggage. Check in was easy and they upgraded us to a Terrace room along with allowing us immediate access to our room at 10am. This was my first trip to Europe and I had tried to lower my expectation of the 5-star hotel. However to my surprise the room and bath were nice size and well maintained.
We opted for the included breakfast which was a great value. This included full breakfast in the dining area or on the patio adjacent to the dining room. Included juices, fruit, breads, waffles, yogurt, granola, cereal, cheeses, eggs, meats and drink of your choice including champagne.
Service was excellent- Concierge was always very helpful- map and directions to several locations, also helped us check in and print boarding passes for flight home. Lady who cleaned our room was great and supper friendly. We did leave her a couple EU each day :-)
They also have a bar upstairs which overlooks Rome. We enjoyed a late cocktail one evening here and it was a beautiful view of the city and nice way to wrap up our evening.
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Rome.

Just to preface: I'm not someone who loves to complain when coming home from a trip about how my carpet didn't get vacuumed twice a day. I'm generally pretty happy with the places I stay and have learned what to expect from hotels in general. That said, I was particularly excited about staying at this hotel because it seemed like it was going to be a really posh experience. Not so. In fact, our two-person room was one of the smallest I've ever stayed in. It had virtually no frills, no particularly good view of anything, and a shower so narrow that the curtain would cling to you as you bathed. Yes, it is true, the service was fantastic. Everyone was nice and wonderful. But there is just nothing 'swank' about this hotel at all. The common areas seem like they could be fun and enjoyable, but I never once saw another guest lounging in the piano room and I don't think they even had a bartender available to serve drinks. Overall, I have nothing to say about moldy sheets, or leaking roofs, or how the maids stole everything we own. Nothing like that at all. The place was just a big, big let down for the price we paid.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in April. Having checked out of the Westin in Florence, this hotel was a big disappointment. The staff was not as helpful. The front desk initially upgraded us to a larger room facing Via Sistina; however, the room was smelly, the mattress was old and uncomfortable, and not what we expected. The room was quite noisy since it was facing Via Sistina. The location is right above the Spanish steps and the Metro, which made it convenient to get to and from the Termini and Vatican. If you like shopping, this is an ideal location for you; however, I would rather me closer to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. One more positive is that everything is within walking distance from the hotel.
