We've stayed at the Lord Byron's sister hotel in Firenze, the Regency, and we loved it. Although we didn't stay overnight at the Lord Byron, we had dinner there one evening, while we were in Rome. The hotel was charming - beautiful, meticulously kept and an intimate, romantic edifice. For those looking for a small, boutique hotel in Rome, this should be right at the top of the list:

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Lord Byron for 4 days as part of our Honeymoon, the wonderful staff on reception upgraded us to a Junior Suite and it was fantastic. The Lord Byron is situated on the edge of a beautiful park and a walk through the park will take you straight to the piazza de poppilo and the tube station, which can transport you around the city easily. The hotel restaurant was highly priced (you will find this the norm in Rome), but the food and service was excellent, and the wine served as it should be.

We had a fantastic time here and no doubt we will be back again.

We stayed at the Lord Byron Hotel for a long weekend in May and couldn't really fault it. It is a little way out of the centre of Rome but well worth the 10 min taxi ride each day. (There is bus stop near by too). Quiet and peaceful - a little gem.

We were given an upgrade to a suite on arrival. The room was an art deco beauty. Lovey bathroom with wonderful "goodies" and large towels which seems rare these days! The only criticism I would have was the bed was a little hard.

Breakfast was included in the room tariff which made a huge difference; some hotels in Rome charge 40 euro per person for breakfast. It was a very good buffet breakfast - a great start to the day.

The best thing about the hotel were the reception staff. They were SO helpful, and nothing was too much bother. They gave us excellent recommendations for dinner each night in different parts of the city. They also informed us of events happening in the city that we might otherwise have missed.

If we go back to Rome we will definitely stay here again

Fabulous art deco, luxury hotel. Small and very stylish with excellent service. Rooms are beautifully appointed with great extras including bathrobes, slippers and lovely bathroom toiletries. Turndown service in the evening is always welcome.
Lovely breakfast with plenty of fresh produce. We had one evening meal in the restaurant which was beautifully cooked and presented.
Concierge will tell you all Rome's sights are within five minute taxi ride, which they probably are at 3am in the morning! It's such a busy city you will need to allow plenty of time to get there if you have booked tickets for a specific time. On the plus side, the taxi rank is at the bottom of the road and only takes a couple of minutes to get to the hotel.
There is a decent restaurant within walking distance and several good quality pizzerias within a short taxi ride, all used by the locals which makes for a great atmosphere.
All in all, if you are looking for a luxury break, in a quiet location the Lord Byron is for you.
