“Clean, Peaceful, Comfortable, Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 8 nights beginning September 28. The hotel is located in a beautiful residential area outisde the the noise of central Rome. The rooms are very well designed with a separate closet area for luggage. The bathrooms are large and the rooms are good sized and clean. The sleep quality is the best of any hotel I've ever stayed in Europe. There are a number of wonderful local restaurants nearby. Breakfast is served each morning in the hotel with a large selection of items. The staff from the head concierge (Andrea) to the cleaning staff is terrific. The location of the hotel, outside the central area, requires a little more walking or a cab ride, but staying at this hotel makes it worth it.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies overlooking the local villas

This hotel is a hidden gem. Just away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is like staying with a family friend. This art deco hotel is of the highest standard and finish.I am very much looking forward to going back.
A very close excellent restaurant to try is Harry's Bar.

Room Tip: Go for the best that you can afford.

This small and lovely hotel is near the Borghese Park and foreign embassys. It is in a quiet residential area away from the noise of the city but the taxis show up in 3 minutes and 10 euros later you are wherever you want to go. If you are a serious walker you could walk for maybe 30 minutes and be anywhere. The brakfast was fine and the staff very polite and helpful. The bathroom was clean and had a nice bathtub for soaking after running arouns all day. The bed was super comfortable and I am fussy about that. I loved this hotel and I think it is very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: They are probably all fine. You could try ask for an upper floor room. The suites are more money. T...

We look forward to our annual visit here with enthusiasm and the hotel has never disappointed. The art deco public areas are stunning, and invite one to linger - the bar is a particular 'must' and why not try dinner too. Our room was welcoming and comfortable, with plenty of storage space for travellers' kit. Linen was changed whenever it had been used.
Although some people prefer a city centre location, we find the quiet area, just near the Borghese gardens is perfect. It is a 25 minute stroll through the park to Piazza Popolo, there is a taxi rank about 1 minute's walk away and there are frequent buses and trams to various areas of the city. There is an added bonus of being very near the Modern Art Gallery which has a lovely open air cafe/restaurant.
Whilst these advantages are considerable, the hotel might not be the gem it is without the professionalism and charm of the staff. Guests have a wide range of needs and the whole team appears to enjoy responding to each person's individual preference so there is none of the feeling that one gets in some hotels, that one is a' sausage being processed'. The 'hands on' involvement of the owner, Mr. Ottaviani shows.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with terrace if you want to relax outdoors.

During a recent trip to Rome, we had booked a hotel, which turned out to be infested with mosquitos due to a hot and humid Roman summer. Because I am allergic, we needed to change hotels. On a previous trip in 2003 we had stayed at the Lord Byron and so we contacted them and changed hotels. When they heard I had an allergic reaction to mosquitos, they treated my room with a citronella light smelling spray and then bought a plug in device designed to keep mosquitos at bay. It worked, no bites and a great trip. Such caring and kindness is an example of all the staff. Thank you Massimo and Andrea for all your help during our stay. Some reviews may say the hotel is a bit out of the way, but when you find the shortcut to the Piazza dei Popolo, it really is not far. Hotel restaurant is excellent as well.

Just stayed at this hotel September of this year. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice (comfortable, clean, nicely decorated), however smaller than we expected. The hotel is located in an upscale neighborhood near the Borghese gardens, however, it is a very long walk or cab ride into the city or basically anywhere you want to go. Also, we were disappointed with the service, as we had to play 20 questions to get any information from the front desk staff/concierge, which is not typical of a "5" star hotel. In regards to service, we were missing a blanket and our hair dryer did not work, and had to ask several times before the staff addressed them. This hotel does not have exercise facilities. We called ahead to ask if they had a DVD for morning Yoga and they said yes, however, this was NOT true.

We stayed in two rooms for several days over the New Year's holiday. The staff treated us like family. It is a lovely, small, quiet hotel that is a bit secluded but within walking distance of some attractions. We attended the New Year's Eve dinner at the hotel, and were thrilled that we did - it was very festive, and you get to know the staff so it felt like you were celebrating with friends - but you can get more delicious food at other restaurants within walking distance. Ask the concierge - he'll send you somewhere good. But definitely have some drinks and talk to Nickolai before you go.
