This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I don't mind paying top dollar for a 5 star hotel, but this hotel is a dump with rude staff.

1. old, old rooms with torn worn drapes, carpets and bedding
2. old disgusting bathroom
3. antiquated electrical system
4. NO INTERNET SERVICE - they will tell you they have it, they are lying
5. no conciere service
6. indifferent staff with no concern toward their guests
7. Very LOUD, we were unable to sleep due to motorcylces roaring up the street and excellerating in front of the hotel all night long.
8. Construction work right outside hotel with street dug up.

My husband & I stayed four nights at the Regina. After a long harrowing plane flight, we arrived nine hours late. The staff was wonderful in reccomending a close restaurante with good food. The staff was excellent, helping us with all of our needs. The Spanish steps and trevi fountain are about a 10 minute walk. The metro stop is close to the hotel. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the US embassey. I found ants in the bathroom the first night. The staff offered another room, which did not have the view. I declined the exchange of rooms and the staff took care of the ant problem that night.
Breakfast is continental - good fruit and some good pastries.
I really enjoyed my stay and would return to Baglioni Regina if we return to Rome

Very nice location in Rome...Embassy row. The staff here was especially attentive to our every whim. We stayed 4 nights here and walked all of Roma from Villa Boeghese & Spanish Steps just minutes away, then south to St Paul's Basilica. You can do it!
We had a very nice room here. The Roof top Bar and Breakfast area very nice location to start and end your day. We always had an evening drink looking out over Tome of the Unknown Soldier and the Vatican with a sunset.

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous common areas. To reach our room, we had to take a set of stairs from the reception area, then a door, hallway and another set of stairs, we almost thought were on a different building. However the room was very large, almost a suite, but with views on a small street. Good base for visiting Rome, and one day after returning from our shopping we still saw the porter/security guy looking at a dog poo left since the morning. That would not happen in London. The hotel is located opposite the American embassy so if you go down the road you will reach an area with lots of nice restaurants. If you dare to book the restaurant up the road on the left (on the top floor of this hotel - have forgottent the name, but very famous), be warned, there is a waiter (the one that keeps his hands in the air when serving like he is in a duel) will let you wait for your change (some 50 euros tip for him). We couldn't be bothered to argue, since the view from the restaurant was so good.
A little bit disappointed with the Italians, loud and shouting/rude even when asked questions in Italian.
The airport is funny when you leave, so if up to no trouble always travel with British Airways.

My husband and I also recently had a bad experience at the Regina Baglioni in Rome during our honeymoon. Despite temperatures near 90 degrees Farenheit, we did not have air conditoning during our entire stay. We mentioned this to the staff several times, and asked for a solution, but one was never achieved. Thus, we endured several extremely warm nights, slept little, and were exhausted during our very expensive tours of Rome. Additonally, our bathroom had a terrible stench of raw sewage that was so bad we tried to avoid using it. The breakfast buffet in the morning was presented well, however the food was not fresh, and even still frozen at times. The staff seemed to have little care of whether or not our stay was satisfactory. When we mentioned our unsatisfaction with the air conditoning, the staff even had the nerve to defend the hotel, as if it was OUR fault that we demanded air conditoning. We could have stayed at a three star hotel, and had the basic ammenity of air conditoning. Oftentimes, we tried to avoid going home to our very expensive room because of the awful smell and high temperatures. Overall, our stay was beyond dissapointing, and even left a bad taste in our mouth of Rome. We stayed at several other 5-star hotels during our stay in Europe, and have only compliments for these establishments. I would not stay at another Baglioni hotel and would not recommend them under any circumstance.

  • Liked — The resturant decor
  • Disliked — Lack of air conditoning, care of staff, fresh food, & sewage problem
