“Excellent Service at the Baglioni”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We landed early morning in Rome and were at the hotel at 10:30 AM. The room wasn't ready yet, so the hotel comp'd us for breakfast, which was a nice gesture. By 12:30, they had moved some reservations around and were able to put is into an upgraded room, even though their announced check-in time is 2:00 or 3:00. The room was cozy, but quite comfortable, with richly appointed furniture. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and we slept well. There was no noise from other rooms. The bathroom was spacious, with two sinks and lots of counter space. There was a small balcony overlooking the Via Veneto, just across the street from the American Embassy.

We actually stayed in two different rooms, as the Baglioni was the bookend hotel for our Tauck tour To the Amalfi Coast. the second room was about the same size, but less richly furnished and with only one sink in the bathroom. The hotel was generous with shampoo, body lotion, etc. The air conditioning thermostat in the first room did not work, so we had to turn the A/C on or off to control the temperature. A/C in the second room worked well.

The breakfast buffet was tasty, with good variety. We ate dinner one night in Brunello, their downstairs restaurant, and the food was gourmet quality, although prices were steep. There are a number of restaurants in the neighborhood, although I advise to stay off the touristy Via Veneto, and head down the side streets for a more authentic experience and better value.

I stayed here many years ago with my mother and two daughters. It was a great hotel then and even better now. The rooms are updated, clean nice decor, and the breakfast which was included was wonderful. Very fresh food and amazing coffee. The staff was very professional and very helpful at all times. I have stayed at the Hotel Hassler and the Hotel Eden in the past. hese are very nice hotels but for the value and location of a first class hotel, the Regina Baglioni is my best pick.

Overpriced for what you get! The staff, and concierge are great and welled trained..at first sight the room seems really nice BUT for the price the shower is horrible and so is the tub..we had black mold in the showers of each room we stayed in..staff could have cared less. Also tubs/showers are dated and dangerous. Be cautious getting into it here! We stayed here twice and the twin beds were not exactly put together well. Breakfast is ok..not great but acceptable...for the price the rooms we paid over $600 euro for are very over priced...front desk ...very snobby. We will find another place next time we visit Rome but we love this area and will stay in this neighborhood as its really lovely! Love the hood do not recommend the hotel!!

I am sitting here in my deluxe room, free upgrade, and trying to think what to say without going over the top! Every single aspect of our stay here has been first class. The staff are excellent, breakfast plentiful and with a wide choice, location superb etc. On specifics it is wonderful to come in after an evening out to find not only your bed turned down but your complimentary slippers laid out beside your bed. Definately 5 star!!

The Regina cannot meet 5 star expectations. Some rooms just over stairs and after long walk in the back part of the hotel in reach, lifts are a nightmare (prepare for long waiting). Staff is professional, but not 5 star friendly. Rooms are very quiet and the bed is amazing. Room cleanliness not good, especially when you search the room for power supply. Some of the appliances are old and colors faded (not just the night stand lamp). Breakfast pretty good, but busy during peak time, so all tables occupied and waiting for service.

dear Guest thank you for sharing impressions of your recent stay and sorry of the few issues you pointed out. Indeed October is our highest time of year and the Hotel has been runnig on full capacity and at peak times there can be some wait for the lifts of breakfast seating like in other establishment I would think. Your other comments have been taken on board and and will be discussed in our internal meetings as food for thought.
Thanks once again for having chosen to stay with us,
Sincerely

We Stayed at the Hotel Regina Baglioni for four nights in September 2012 and found the location, rooms and staff all beyond fault!
The room was large with an excellent bathroom with double basins and high end toiletries.
The king sized bed was firm an assured an excellent nights sleep.
The location was ideally situated in the prestigious part of Rome, close walking distance to major attractions (Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo etc)
The staff, from the doorpeople to the desk clerks and the concierges were always friendly, obliging and polite. Suggestions for nearby restaurants were always terrific.
We have no hesitation in recommending the Regina!
