“Great central place in Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

A terrific hotel right in the heart of Rome. Walking distance to the train station and a street away from the Trivi Fountain making always easy to head back to the hotel from anywhere in Rome if you get a little disoriented. The best breakfast outlook from the 5th floor views over Rome are a great welcome to this wonderful city rather than breakfast in an underground room. Wonderful. Friendly helpful staff. A cute old fashioned brass doored lift out if a James Bond film. The tourist sight seeing buses also stop just a block away on the same street.

This hotel was perfect for our short 3 day stay in Rome. It was the perfect loaction to all the main sites and at max a 20 minute walk from Vatican city!

We did'ne need to take a single cab, even to the airport as this hotel was also very colse to the metro.

The rooms where clean and breakfast was fine. The only thing I could fault was the size of the room, our room that sleeps two was very small but for the loction you are in, it is worth it!

You can't beat the location. Hotel Tritine is located within a 15-20 minute from all the major sites and the shopping starts right next door! I was travelling with my teenage daughter and the only public transport we caught was to get to the Vatican! This is a great spot to explore Rome from!
It is a small hotel undergoing renovations which can be problematic. The reception area is seriously small and can be quite congested if there is more than a couple of people checking in or out. We were there for 6 nights late September/October and our first room was unrenovated and had problematic plumbing! We were moved to a renovated room but sadly we had to pay for an upgrade. It was nonetheless serviceable albeit small. Beds were not terribly comfortable. There was a constant odor emanating from the bathroom blumbing which necessitated leaving the extractor fan in the bathroom running most of the time when we were in the room. We had to dodge painters and trestles going in and out of our room or up and down the stairs as the lift was tiny and often unavailable.
Breakfast was served on the fith level and had a lovely vista of the rooftops in the area. This was a really lovely and airy space. Overall it was a very good stay despite the issues associated with a hotel undergoing renovations and the staff were very helpful. The taxi service offered by the hotel to the airport is excellent value for money!

I transferred from a vary spacious tour motel on the outskirts of Rome to the central Hotel Tritone, a single room with two single beds it was very small but serviceable as there was only one person to accomodate, the staff were very helpful, breakfast room and breakfast which was provided with my booking was very nice with a lovely selection of food. his Hotel has one of the smallest lifts ever probably nly accommodates 3-4 people. A great central location which is a main street, walking distance to the bus, train, and post office (another story with the post office, if you go there just remember to get a ticket) fingers crossed my package arrives home one day. This hotel is only minutes away from the Trevi Fountain, plenty of food and tourist shops very close by as well as a Galleria (Zara and other shops).

Room Tip: Rooms have opening windows so if open, and whether facing to the front or back the streets are noise...

This hotel is such a great location for exploring the heart of Rome on foot. Our room, at first glance, looked like a dorm room with built-in twin beds along one wall. In looking in some other rooms, we know ours is not the layout of all rooms. It is minimally furnished, but the layout works perfectly and the beds were some of the most comfortable I have experienced in Europe. We were on the street side, but the room was amazingly quiet--and I am a light sleeper. The rooftop breakfast was varied and offered both hot and cold options. We found the staff helpful and friendly and that is always a plus for travelers. I would definitely recommend this for the price and convenience of location. And you are in ROME!

This was very well priced for the standard and location. Small rooms and a little dated but clean and generally very pleasant. Had a very tiny but quaint elevator. Breakfast on the rooftop was fantastic. Friendly staff. Easy to get to everything on foot and sooo close to the trevi fountain.

Room 408 reeked of smoke so we moved to Room 404 which was good.
No problems with room, good shower but the shampoo ran out and was not refilled. Towels were changed each day which was a surprise.
Breakfast room and food was good. Hot and cold selections.
WiFi costs 3 euros / hour or 7 euros for 3 hours but they are only valid for 24 hours - use it or lose it!
Fantastic location, central to everything.
Can recommend a bicycle tour by Top Bike Rentals our guide Simone was excellent.
