We stayed 4 night at the Hotel White and found it a reasonable place to stay. The location is excellent, it really is only a 100 yards to the Trevi fountain, it's also a good location for the Metro and a short walk to the Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The rooms was small but on a par for a European city hotel, the hotel was clean and the staff pleasant. The breakfast buffet was fine, a selection of pastries and rolls, cereals, yoghurts, meat and cheese and some hot bacon, sausage and eggs.

Overall this is a good base to stay in Rome,

We visited this hotel for my 50th birthday so did pay more than we normally would. We booked a twin room, which was ready for us on arrival and we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and despite only being 2 of us we had twin beds, TV & bathroom (toilet & washbasin) downstairs but stairs led us to a double bed, TV and bathroom (bidet, toilet washbasin & shower). All were pristine. Air conditioning was working, there was no noise from the street and the breakfast was very good. The reception were very friendly and helpful. The only criticisms are there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and one evening we would have liked a drink in the courtyard area but they did not serve hot drinks from the lounge bar and the fridge was not working for a cold beer - only shorts available. However, these were only minor issues for us. The location is excellent - we walked everywhere from the hotel with the exception of the Vatican which we were told by reception would take us an hour. Still not sure about that one - maybe Italians only stroll? :) The Trevi fountain is only a minute away and we were able to go there before breakfast and have our photo taken whilst there was no one else there - an impossibility during the day. We would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Rome.

My husband and I recently stayed at the White Hotel for our honeymoon in Italy. We booked a range of hotels for our trip from B&B's to 4 star properties and decided to splurge on this hotel for our 4 nights in Rome. The hotel has a really great location (right next to the Trevi fountain) and in the center of Rome which makes walking to sites very convenient, especially since the metro system doesn't cover the center of Rome very well. They have their own restaurant but there is a better restaurant across the street 'Chianti' that according to one website is rated as one of the Top 40 restaurants in Rome (out of 1,000+). The rooms are very sleek (sort of like an Apple store), with big bathrooms, fancy beds and a nice breakfast. The staff was sort of rude and when we booked on-line we got a 'package' that was supposed to include an airport pick-up and a bottle of champagne but we didn't get either. While the hotel was very nice, I don't think it was worth the money, but my husband did love staying there.

When we arrived it was evident that the air conditioning was not working, we had rented a large room with 2 twin beds and 1 full bed. We were offered a small 2 twin bed room for the same price we were paying for the large room, Everyday the management promised the air conditioning would be fixed. It was never fixed. The hotel didn't offer to reduce out room rate. We suffered from sleep deprivation, I was warned to be careful at the ATM machines and about the pick pockets, but not about the hotels that rip you off. It was truly the worst hotel experience of my life.

Dear Madam,
We understand you are Dallas lady room mate. She stayed with us 3 previuos times and all previous stays were exceptional.
We are sorry to hear that your stay has been disappointing.

We have looked into the problem to understand what has happened during your stay.

Being a repeated guest, we have upgraded you in our junior suite 201 even tough the reservation was an Executive room.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was out of order during your stay and we had to replace the air-conditioning unit with a new one.

Our receptionist has offered you another junior suite the 101 with a Jacuzzi bathtub (the 201 has only a bathtub) on the first floor, however you have refused to move in as the room was slightly smaller.

Concerning the noise coming from the nearby street, unfortunately we are located in the historical center just few steps away from the Trevi fountain and we can’t be responsible for street activities during the night in Rome.

At the time of your stay our property which consists of only 45 rooms, was fully booked and we were unable to accommodate you in any other room.

We do apologize for the inconvenience caused, and as we would like to welcome you back in our property, we will contact you directly through your email address to offer you a sort of compensation.

Yours faithfully,
The Management

This was my 4th and last stay at Hotel White. Arrived on May 7th to no air conditioning in a room so stiffling hot we could barely breathe, mentioned to front desk and was told since it was Friday our air would be turned on by Monday. They also offered us a different room 1/3 size and same price. We declined. Computer downstairs lobby didn't work 2 of 5 days we were there so looking for different hotel was difficult. We were assigned room #201 which is located on the front side about 15 feet off the street and just above a restaurant with live music until midnight. at 1 am street cleaner makes 3 passes, 3 a.m. garbage pick up, 6 a.m. food delivery. Each and every night. Monday came and went - no air.Tues. no air. Other guests in hotel had air in their rooms. We were to check out on Friday, however, by Wednesday, we were more than ready to leave. Sleep deprived from the noise, we paid $250/ticket to come home 2 days early. Enough was Enough.Wrote letter requesting refund - no response - Just like the problem with air conditioning in room. Seems this hotel is very good about non responding. BEWARE OF ROOM #201 & #101....NIGHTMARE.
