I just returned home from an 8 day trip to Paris and Rome and stayed in this hotel for 4 nights while in Rome. I cannot tell you how much we loved this hotel. The staff greeted us and had our room ready when we arrived. The room was exceptionally clean and quite spacious, especially having just left our very clean closet of a room in Paris. However we did have a delux room, but it was more than enough space for two with a spacious bathroom and a sitting area. The hotel offered free wireless internet as well as a great breakfast that you can get included with your room rate. There is also a hotel bar which has very resonable drink prices.

The neighborhhod was residential but had lots of family run restaurants and other small hotels. I highly recommend the first restaurant just across the street from the hotel. We ate dinner here twice as well as two other restaurants in the area, but the food here was excellent. The neighborhood is just 3 blocks from Termini train station (a major station in the city) which is very convenient from the airport as well as a metro station. We did the hop on/hop off buses to get around (which I also recommend as they run on a 24 hour block, meaning if you get your ticket today at 3:00pm, it's good untl tomorrow at the same time so you can get a lot of site seeing done this way. All of the hop on/hop off serivces start and end at Termini and there are at least 6 companies to choose from for 20 Euro a day, or 30 Euro for a two day pass. Well worh it. You can buy tickets for the green Line company at the front desk of the hotel.

Overall, I will definitely stay at this hotel again, as I plan to return to Rome in the fall. I can't wait.

Sincerely,

Deidre N. Arrington

Pre-cruise, we stayed in this hotel for 3 days based on traveler's reviews and we were not disappointed. The property was very clean in all areas, the breakfast was the best I've had in Europe, staff was very helpful, good location for train access to embarking port for our Wind Surf cruise. Our travel companion with health issue was resolved in short order, thanks to assistance by front desk staff. We went to hospital ER for treatment, environment in the hospital was little chaotic, since its a socialized system, but even with little language difficulty, he was treated quickly. Most amazing, he was only asked for his DOB, place of residence and place of birth. In our system we would have filled out multi page pre- treatment questions. Best of all, he paid $9 for prescription, but not a dime more. Had it been here is U.S. , I doubt he would have gotten out for less than $1500. Although he had to visit a specialist later, at his request, treatment was no different and was charged $150. There were some negative comments about the location of this hotel, but I found everything I needed in waking distance. Perhaps they were talking about backside of Terimini station which looked little seedy, but we walked thru there, when we got lost. I would return to this hotel without hesitation anytime. Also, jump on and off tour bus leaves from Terimini, best deal in town, if you have limited amount of time.

We stayed at Hotel Canada for 4 nights in a triple room and found all aspects of the hotel excellent. Was great value and would recommend highly. We arrived before check-in time after a 24 hour flight and were able to check in straight away and have breakfast which was a great start to our trip.
Our room was lovely and spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet with large bathroom. The hotel is in great location, could walk from termini station with cases and close to metro which takes you to all the sights in just minutes. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy, with a big selection there is something for everyone (loved the fresh strawberries!).
Free use of internet in lobby was also a plus. The bar and lobby area at the hotel was a major positive. It was great coming back to the bar and relaxing after a day sightseeing. This was something we missed in other hotels we stayed.
We loved Rome and were very happy at Hotel Canada. Will definitely stay there again when in Rome. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer!

The Best Western Canada is a nice, old style hotel in the Termini area, about a 5-10 minute walk from the station. Considering the level of hotel prices in Rome it's a very good choice if you want to stay at a nice place without paying a fortune.

The area around the hotel is quite noisy (restaurants and bars out in the street, but almost no traffic) and the walls are as thin as paper so don't forget to take your earplugs along.

The elevator with the old fashioned two manual doors is somewhat fun, but it requires quite a lot of patience waiting for it when the hotel is busy.

Be careful, some of the restaurants nearby are really bad tourist traps; ask the friendly and helpful people at the reception for tips.

We stayed at this hotel for our last night in Rome. This was our second time to Rome and we're really sorry that we didn't know about this hotel on our first time to Rome as the convenience of its location is absolutely fabulous. If you take the train into Rome, you can just walk over to the hotel which is not more than a ten minute walk. Take the via Gibaldi exit at the termini, hang a left on your exit, take your first right which is Via Vicenza and follow that road all the way up.....hotel is on the left hand side of the road. The metro system is excellent in getting you to any of the major sites you want to see when in Rome....take the line A towards Battistini to get to St. Peter's square, trevi fountain, spanish steps.....max. 7 minutes on the metro to get to St. Peter's square.

This hotel had great rooms, great service, excellent breakfast......the choices were exceptional compared to all the other hotels we have stayed at in Italy.

We highly recommend staying at this hotel for anyone visiting Rome. Bravo Canada Hotel.....keep up the excellent service!!!!
