This hotel was much cheaper than others but the rooms were fine! A short walk to the train terminal. 1.7 miles downhill walk to the coliseum and forum. Small issues with booking due to a cc issue and them not having our cancellation. Staff worked with us though to get it sorted out

We stayed five nights in this hotel. Service was excellent. Staff was helpful with restaurant ideas and always quick to get us a cab when needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a nice variety of fresh foods, pastries, etc. every day. Our room was large, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The bathroom was reasonably large and well equipped. We were able to find some rather good restaurants in the neighborhood. While we could walk to some attractions, we often took cabs, which are numerous and reasonable in Rome. We could get to most places within about 15 minutes. The restaurant has a bar with very inexpensive beverages and a nice selection of snacks every evening.

We stayed at the Hotel Canada during Easter for three nights. We found the location to be good - short walk to Castro Pretorio metro station and to Termini.

Our room (322) provided sufficient space for two adults and two teenagers. Our windows faced Via Vicenza, but we could also hear the noise from Viale Castro Pretorio because the room was so close to the corner of the building. I am usually very sensitive to noise, so always have ear plugs with me when traveling. However, I only needed them once on this trip - and that's because someone was speaking very loudly nearby. Maybe Easter time made the traffic little less noisy, or maybe I was just so worn out from all the walking that I fell asleep very quickly. Not sure.

We appreciated the good & friendly service, cleanliness, the breakfast buffet, the big towels in the bathroom, the high ceilings in the rooms, free wifi that worked very well, to mention the top ones that come to my mind now.

On the complaint side: our double bed mattress had a hollow in the middle - some others have complained about the same issue. The noise from Viale Castro Pretorio did bother my husband more.

Will I return to Hotel Canada on my next trip to Rome? I might, but would want to ensure a room on upper floors (at least third) and not overlooking Viale Castro Pretorio.

We stayed at the Hotel Canada during a 3-day visit to Rome. Convenient location - 10 mms from Termini station and a few steps away from the metro. The gentleman at reception was welcoming and efficient. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great - my wife particularly liked the eggs, and I went for liked the cream-filled cornetti. Well, you do need a solid breakfast before setting out on your tour of Rome.... Overall, great stay. Highly recommended !

We had a short 3 night stay in this hotel and it is a charming building - very tastefully decorated and meticulously clean. The staff are all friendly and service is very quick.

However the corridors transmit all noise - doors shutting, foot steps and people chatting. Earplugs are a must if you want to get a good night's sleep. Our bed also bowed meaning there was roll-together. Breakfast was very disappointing - the hot food is not hot.

Location is convenient: the metro is just around the corner and Barberini Square is 10-15 minutes walk away.

For us the cons outweighed the pros. A shame - it could be a charming hotel but overall the stay was disappointing.
