Check-in: was extremely quick and pleasant. We arrived way ahead of the check-in time and our room was not ready yet. However, we were given another room instead which had been prepared and it was absolutely brilliant to be able to go to our room before the actual check-in time. Hence, we could refresh before going out to re-discover Rome.
Breakfast: was absolutely gorgeous. It catered for all sorts of palates and eating requirements, including low-carb and gluten free.
Location: excellently situated just a stone's throw away from Castro Pretorio metro stop and about 5 minutes away on foot from Termini. Furthermore, if you have friends living in Rome and they offer to pick you up at your hotel, they will have no problems to park or find a stop to leave their vehicle. The zone is not a ZTL (limited-traffic zone) and hence it does not constitute a problem for guests arriving by car. I do not know about actual parking of guests' vehicles though. If I can say something about the actual location, it is not right in the "thick of things", as it were. It is about 30 minutes on foot away from Piazza Colonna so if travellers want to just pop in and out of the hotel, that might prove to be a tad complicated. However, if you want to see Rome in all its glory, the walk from the Hotel to Piazza Venezia and so on is a very pleasant one and it takes you through some of Rome's most beautiful streets. No complaints there.
The room: was perfectly appointed with a beautiful four-poster bed and frescoes on the roof. I mean, really, how many hotels have frescoes on the roof? Towelling, bedding, wardrobe and closet space, quality of toiletries and so on were top notch. I have to say, though, that the pillows were rather too low for my liking, but, then again, I could have asked for a second one and I didn't, so it was my fault. I solved the issue by folding my own pillow in half.
The bathroom was also very nicely appointed and very spacious. The water was divinely hot and water pressure was excellent (unlike many hotels where water simply trickles).
Check-out: Again, was a breeze. No problems whatsoever. The Hotel accepts major credit cards and the staff speak perfect English (even though most were Italian - but of course, one can also use Italian and/or other languages).
Conclusion: I will definitely choose this hotel again whether for business or pleasure. It definitely deserves to be on the Rome hotel radar. Well done to all the staff.
